Amd I blind or is this gun missing from the rep store? I dont see it anywhere. Was it removed? Been updating my Romulan and was going to use it on my Char and Boffs.
You can also buy a bunch of different mark 1 white rifles in the command center. Apply a tech upgrade to several until one goes UR with that first tech upgrade.

Those are tremendous weapons. Both repeating one and the widebeam.
The Plasma Repeating Pistol and Plasma Piercing Rifle are good weapons. You used to be able to buy VR versions at the News Romulus Command Center but they got rid of them when they introduced Upgrades.
You can buy Common versions on New Romulus, the Romulan Fleet, and Dyson Command Centers. The Mission 'Uneasy Allies' has a VR version of the Pistol as a reward choice.

You could buy those Mk XI VRs on anyone from the dilithium store, too.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
Huh, guess I made the rifle up in my head. Could have sworn there was one. Oh well. .-. I know Rom Plasma isnt the best, but I like to stick with canon looks for things.

Plasma and Romulan Plasma look identical. Romulan Plasma doesn't have any special cosmetic feature, so there is nothing to stop you from using regular plasma and just calling it 'Romulan Plasma.'
If you want to keep it canon though, you want to use Disruptors on Romulans. The only time I recall Romulans on screen using anything Plasma based was in Balance of Terror with the big death ball. Otherwise, they always used Disruptors.

Romulan Reputation ground weapons, at least the pistols and rifles, were beam oriented. These are the ones that look like from the Romulan Star Empire.
The Romulan Republic plasma weapons that came out with Legacy of Romulus can be found in the vendors at New Romulus Command and the alliance base in one of the spheres, the one that came out when the Delta Quadrant opened up for us to explore.

Not quite. They have a different color.
It's very subtle then, because they look the same to me.

The common ones are in the Solanae sphere, so they would have been available to non-Romulans as of Season 8.

Useless fact. When those VR Plasma Weapons were removed from the Dilitium Store when Upgrades were implemented, they neglected to change the Vendors in New Romulus Command. You had an extra week to buy them there before they 'fixed' the oversight.

They were always BoE and not BoP. So Romulans could buy them at the flotilla and sell on exchange.
Right. I recall talking about them with a fleet leader who is now gone back before Season 8. They always intrigued me. At first, I was a Repeater/Piercing Beam fan, but, as good as those are at melting down a single target, the Split Beam/Wide Beam are my favorites now for the multi-target facet. They may be more basic types, available to all types of common weapons, but the "wrong way" aspect of having the Split Beam on the pistol and the Wide Beam on the rifle just appealed to me for some reason. The only other weapons like that are the Bajoran Phasers from the DS9 bundle.

The piercing beam rifle has a cone attack as secondary fire. Repeater though, yeah that's fully single target.

That confirms what I thought, thanks.
They are different if held side by side.. but unless they're right next to each other, they're functionally identical.
None the less, the statement that they're a different color is factually accurate.
