By my calculations I still had time 12PM Central to do one more event run and get 1 more Phoenix prize pack, but they shut it down early. What clock is PWE using???
All I needed was 15 more points to get a free ship, now I get jack?
Reminded yet again why I have to walk away from this game. So frustrating.
If you've played before then you know that maintenance day is the last day and whatever time it runs for you (it runs at the same time each time, unless otherwise stated), that's when events end.
Therefore, since my time is 9am, I generally run my events in the morning so *if* I need the time on that day I know I can run one more time before maint starts.
It's not on them, it's on you.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.

True, except there was an oddity in today's maintenance.
The twitter and normal logon page with the "Engage" button noted in red that there was a maintenance that started at 7am PT.
However, there is also a note on the main startup page that says the there will be a scheduled maintenance starting at 5am PT.
While I agree that it's usually best not to plan on completing events or getting a last run done on a maintenance day, it doesn't seem that much to ask that there be some consistency in information when it is provided.
Also, doesn't the zen buyout option prorate based on the number of tokens you have? If someone only needed 15 tokens to finish the event, I can't imagine it would cost that much to use the buyout - a couple days' worth of dil on the exchange max.

Yes, thank you above for being respectful. That is what I did. Just played, got ZERO credits of the 30 I still needed and had to use my buyout option to get 97% off.
Even though I am still angry, I am less frustrated because I still had a way of getting the ship even if I was no longer earning disscount coupons towards the event.

Btw, I just went back to the game and Phoenix P{rize back event is still up, you can still get the mission, open the reward and use the store. Both of the events should have ended at the same time, but the Mycelial event stopped giving it's discount coupons early looks like.
What the heck? Looks like my 30 event credits/discount coupon just showed up AFTER I used some Zen to buy it out. ROFLCOPTER. Guess I will use that credit to earn some Dilithium on this last hour?!
This game. I swear sometimes you TRIBBLE me off on purpose.
It's not the game's fault if you're not keeping different timezones in mind. Advice: set up multiple clocks on your desktop. You will never have that issue again.
I still have a few hours of event time, but its not registering progress??, anybody is having the same problem??, not terrible, i just figured out i could manage to get some more discount to get the ship..
There have been eleventy dozen threads on this that you've apparently ignored over the last 7 years.
After almost every events ends, someone complains about not having access to the last 5 minutes of server time to finish the event. Not bothering to show up for an appointment earns you bonus points though.
nope same issue. had 1h left on event but aint get any progress after maintenance!
cryptic needs to prolongue the event for another day.
I was counting on it to finishing it after the maintenance.
> I was counting on it to finishing it after the maintenance.
Don't do that. Events usually end when maintenance starts and are turned off when the server comes back up.
Just for variety Cryptic apparently only half turned off the event this time, though in the thread below yours the points showed up and hour+ later so maybe you'll get them eventually.

Never, ever count on finishing the event on the last day unless you can finish it before maint starts. Once maint starts, the event is finished.

I think the phoenix boxes are set up with a hot-switch so they come on and off by schedule while the game is running like the crafting, experience, and other weekend stuff does, while the ship events seem to be patched in and out.
Yeah, i wasnt counting on the day to finish, i knew this one event will be impossible to finish for me.. RL does not allow me to be able to play every day, less so for 30, i was lucky to manage 14!!, i hope the next one is a little more short, and last for a little longer.

No oddity in maintinence at all, a couple typos on launchers done by people in different time zones as the Cryptic offices in California are currently in the black out zone so someone at the servers in Massachussets had to handle that.
I said "oddity" to be gracious. There are other words that ought to be used.
I should also note that the main startup page has the server maintenance running from 5am to 9am PT - 4 hrs - while the twitter and "Engage" page list 7am PT for 2.5 hrs.
It's not a typo when there is a fundamental difference, not to mention that California is 3 hrs behind Massachussets, so it'a not a time zone problem or miscalculation.
Yup. Daily bonus not counting. Played the TFO event several times now. Should have over 120 credits but still stuck at 30 daily login credits. Oh well. I have things I need to be doing.
It always works like this and for some reason, Cryptic flat out refuses to change the listed times on events to be accurate. It's so easy too, all they have to do is change the time on the expiration to 'Until the start of server maintenance on 10/10.'
But for some reason, that simple change is just too much effort for them.
Yeah started with 51 mins left on the event page. Did the TFO and 2 Patrols, not getting credit. Cryptic you owe me 17,500 Dil.
Some people need to experience it for themselves no matter how many threads are posted.
Events end when maintenance starts, not at the listed time. If you can do anything event-related after the server comes back up it's a bonus NOT something to count on.

Well, that is true.. what it's odd is that the event keeps running, so it's just a bug.. no biggie, as i said.. i still have mi epic token stashed in my bank for such a day arises!
It would be a bug if it's stated that it ends with maintenance. It has the time of 1:00 PM (most likely showing the local time that it ends). And the timer is counting off still.
It would be one thing if this was a legacy bug, but this is a new UI. They should have clarified if this was intention to end at maintenance. It would have been one thing if the maintenance lasted longer than the count down, but this was a regular maintenance period.
Hopefully if the intention was to have maintenance period be the end of the event, they'll get it fixed/clarified for the next Event period.

True, it might be their intention for the event to work that way, but anyone who expected it to actually happen is ignoring many years of the actual behavior.
Since I was doing the Event stuff at night, I finished up last night for the 25k Dilitium. I was doing the TFO and two Patrols leading to the ship unlock. Then I switched to the TFO on two Characters. I am glad it is over though.

As I said in another thread. We've had plenty of time to finish the event and get the reward, plus yeah some time for extra dil too. But MMOs aren't going to cater to people who don't have the time to do regular content. If you couldn't finish the event, then you might want to look into if your life/responsibilities can handle MMO playtime. Or settle for not getting everything.

Bad Cryptic/PWE. Bad.

Self-inflicted wound.

Then the event should say it ends when maintenance starts, not after it finishes.
Note: I've always felt it was pretty crappy that most events end the same day as maintenance. That means you lose that last couple of hours.
