I don't think either of you two actually read the blog. Its pretty obvious its going to be an intel sci ship. Maybe it will have a hangar like the vestas? but its 100% a sci ship

I did read the blog, that's why I said I'm really hoping it is a science ship, because based on Shon's description "She was built with the most advanced scientific instrumentation and newly declassified Mycelial technology. She’s kitted out with dozens of sensors, particle projectors and electronic countermeasures… able to reconnoiter from afar to understand the nature of any new phenomena she might encounter before it might detect her." it sounds like one, however you can never be sure until it's official.
It wouldn't surprise me if the C-Store version doesn't even have a hangar bay. The mirror Crossfield was significantly different from the prime version, they would want something special to set this one apart as well.
So will it be another Promo/lockbox ship or a Store ship? I liked looking at it during that mission, but am sort of tired of the majority additions being gambling. It also seems unlikely, inefficient, to release a Store ship all by its lonesome, especially one like this that doesn't have an impactfull lineage behind it. Oh well Store release it at 6K zen too I guess most of the prices in STO are inflating recently anyways.

Its most likely going to be part of a bundle with 1 ship for each faction, so we'll probably get a klingon variant, romulan, and Dominion variants.
It isn't unheard of to just do a single Fed ship release in the C-Store. Feds account for 80%+ of players, so there isn't a huge loss financially when they only make a ship for them, although with so few ships to pick from chances are the attach rate of players from the other factions is a lot higher.
As for how it will be released, it's almost certainly coming to the C-Store. There's already a lockbox version, and I doubt they would get many people choosing it from the billion-credit ship list if they went that way - especially since saturation is nowhere near capped for the last ship yet.

I'm sure is a Science destroyer or something like that.. the 2410 Einstein class re-imagination... and i'm going to get it, because i have the perfect char for that ship!
Sadly, I doubt it. It's the updated, non-lobi version of the Engle class, which is a strike wing escort.
The Somerville has nothing to do with the Engle at all. This is a completely different ship that originally came from the IDW comics. It doesn't even look like the Engle.
The Engle and Klingon Sechs class come out together in November.
Having spent a long time looking at my Engle, it does indeed look mostly the same - flat saucer with two engines attached directly on the sides.
It's the same size and the same shape (there's one in one of the new patrols to gaze upon), and could certainly share elements the same as the Cardenias/Buran, Shepard/Gagarin, and the other Disco ships can.
But you are right, the roadmap says November for the Engle, so I guess we will have to wait a couple days to see.
The Sommerville does not have any visual appeal to me at all, if I ever picked one up it would be despite the look, not because of it. Personally I doubt there could be anything about it to mitigate the meh look but until the stats come out there is no way to know.

I like that idea, I'm not saying I'd automatically buy that bundle, but I prefer that idea & would have to consider it. To me this U.S.S. Somerville looks like a thin saucer with big engines lol not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

True, it would fit for a kind of flamboyant retro type character since the styling has that WWII feel to it (every time I look at it I cannot help seeing propellers with the bussards as spinners). If they had Captain Proton style uniforms and gear it could be fun for quirky roleplay. Maybe it is a little less meh than I thought

Not the Engle...

Correct, that's the Somerville, converted from the comic book, and which just happens to be exactly the same size and shape as the Engle when they modeled it in STO. It's almost as if they looked at some reference design they already had, and built a new skin over the top of it!

A lockbox version? What lockbox version?
Its not the Engle. Its based on a ship from the comics, and there is no playable version yet.
