Well, I assume it must be the Universal. I have run it twice in the recent Endeavor past and we had no problem with the Captain.

It's possible you didn't do enough damage to get credit for helping to kill it. I was in the Dyson Space BZ going after dreadnoughts the other day and the first one I was firing on (with others firing too), I got no credit for that kill.
Now a LTS and loving it.

The Captain (Project Leader) was killed tonight and I got the Universal.

I do not want to offend you but perhaps that in itself is why it is not working.

How so? Like @echatty mentioned one has to deal a certain amount of damage to the respective critter in order to get a kill acknowledged. No matter if it’s just a footsoldier, a project leader or a T-Rex in the BZ. I do not know how much as in a percentage it is but you clearly should not play ground as if you hate it here.

In other words, you have to do your part in order to fulfil this task. Sometimes your teams make it hard, sometimes they make it easy but thats just the way it is I'm afraid. ;)

Deploy one of these and you will find beating tholians is a lot easier.

Also make sure nobody in the team uses this one since it heals tholians:
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Universal_Kit_Module_-_Solar_Gateway

B.t.w. the wiki appears to be wrong. The solar gateway does radiation damage, not antiproton.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

it works now. you just need space suit, stand on platform and kill boss. it goes poof at fixed hp, then kill adds/portals. boss repops.... rinse repeat till boss dead. best to forego optional, someone always gets dragged into acid.

Well of course the Tholian Captain is bugged. Tholians are bugs, aren't they? :)

I killed the Tholian captain today and got the endeavor. You were likely unfortunate enough to not do enough damage to him to make the system count it?

I think the only time I've seen STF type endeavors bug is when I log in with a character and it shows that they are already completed, when I know they weren't yet completed. Usually you just need to zone once to fix that, but it might not work if you are just zoning directly into a STF.

I see more frequent bugginess with the shield healing endeavors where it just stops counting the healing for no apparent reason.

Technically, no. They're supposed to represent spiders. Spiders are not bugs ;)

I've had this happen. Standing in acid with shield generator running and it isn't counting the repairing.

They squish just like bugs. So 8 instead of 6 legs and 2 instead of 3 body sections.

I have hated Bakula since Quantum Leap but I've watched Enterprise.

I like Bakula and QL was ok, didnt watch eps religiously but I did see it from time to time... gave Ent a chance, 1st few eps... but the retcon was strong and I bailed. Voyager was the last ST series I watched regularly.

QL had a premise that was utterly insane when you really thought about it... It got REALLY weird when they introduced the evil time travelers.
