Not sure if this is a bug or not. ToS Disruptors turning orange.

Posting here because I honestly dont know if this is a bug or not. When I use my ToS Disruptors from K13 with beam overload, they turn orange for the firing mode. Here are screens of it happening. Is this normal? Or should I make a bug report for it?

Just asking here first before I go reporting something. Thank you. :)

According to Reddit, several weapons changing colour when using Beam Overload is apparently a bug. The staff seem to be aware of it.

makes me wonder if they do also phaser damage during BO, lol

nevertheless, I dont think they know all the weapon types that developed bugs with BO so might be best to report

I was wondering that as well to be honest, they do less damage then my ToS fed beams... Wonder if they just changed the color and left them phaser...

IF they turn to doing PHASER damage DURING BO only that means they dont benefit from disruptor damage consoles DURING BO

which may explain the lesser damage

Yeah, but when I was noticing the numbers was when I was using fire at will. Was doing like 12k dps where on a nearly identical build I was doing 45k.

If it changes energy type it is a bad thing, but if it is just a color change it is realistic (for TOS phasers at least). While ship disrupters were always the green "comet' style, hand disrupters changed color just like phasers, with red and blue being the most common for beams while green was the most common wide angle "flash" mode color.

I do not know if the remastered Trek fixes this, but the Enterprise would sometimes show different colors for the same firing (many of the SFX clips were lost so they used what they had available even if it looked weird) like when they killed Vaal they used the stock blue beam shot for the space end, but red beams striking Vaal on the ground side of the shot.

TOS was highly inconsistent when it came to colors of certain effects, which I suspect was a budget issue (they had to reuse or use non-polished shots due to a lack of budget).
