A plea for bridge options with the return to Kelvin ships.

lexusk19lexusk19 Member Posts: 1,430 Arc User
Since you are revisiting the Kelvin ships and adding more of them Cryptic, please allow us to change the bridge out in the existing ones and ships to come! Its not that I dont like the bridges you have made for these ships, but I like full interiors, namely my TOS bridge that I bought. So either make full interiors for the Kelvin ships, or allow us to switch the bridges out for ones we already own. That is all.

P.S. THANK YOU FOR THE KELVIN CLASS! Seriously, been waiting for this ship since 2011 when I started playing this game. :)

More decks would be welcome. -- I like being able to stay away from Starbases, for as long as possible (I mean, it's Star Trek afterall); and having crew stations with services, goes a very long way to enabling that.

Even the open plan bridges like the Temporal Battlecriuser would have at least another deck with concentric circular interior. It doesn't have to be radically different from the Defiant / Intrepid deck system, which works well. I'm actually at a loss as to why those decks aren't standard on all Starfleet ships? -- Then you only need select the bridge.

Would be great to have a hangar area, on hangar fitted ships and carriers too.

I read somwhere on reddit that the devs were adversed toward creating more interior systems. -- As a fairly new player and LTS I'd like to request they "please reconsider that decision" (if that's true). It has been a determining factor in my purchase choices (as I'm sure it has been for many people).

But walking around the decks, to see what the artists have concocted, is like christmas, everytime I go below-decks!

Agreed! And I would love it if we could get supplies and sell things on our ships. Maybe at a higher price to justify going to a starbase to get things cheaper.

The Suliban Cell Ship and the Tuffli have Commodity Vendors that sell substantially cheaper than your Replicator or the normal Commodity Vendors. Only the specific Commodities available at the Fleet Embassy are cheaper than from those two ships.

Let's hope the Kelvin comes with it's own bridge and not the Konni or Dreadnought bridge. Even better would be if that bridge could be used on at least the DSC/TOS/TMP ships.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I'd love to be able to change the bridge on my Kelvin Vengeance.

I mean, I love the default one, but still.. I want to walk around the ship. :P

Be careful what you wish for. The TOS Enterprise Bridge has problems on the non-Bridge decks. The crew is sitting below their chairs.

To be honest, the bridge from the Walker class wouldn't look too out of place on some older-design Kelvin timeline ships.

As a corollary to this, since we see the transporter room, main engineering, and lots of deck corridors on the Disco missions where you're on both the Discovery and Buran, it would be nice if there is any free time on the schedule for the environment artists to cobble those together for a complete Discovery-era interior to go with the Walker bridge, perhaps fill in the floor glass panels for ships other than the Walker as well, ha.

Basically I think it was mentioned they might do stuff involving the lower decks tv show. I'd imagine this would be the best time for them to go back to interiors. It might be the only thing that will change there minds and actually have something done or a new interior system maybe with unique story quests. Involving your crew. Reskined based on faction. We will have to see what cbs does with Lower decks. Because I doubt cryptic will return to making interiors unless there is some type of motivation for them to do it such as a tv show that is focused on ship interiors. Which this show basically is. Its more of animated cartoon show. Kinda like Acquisitions Incorporated. In more of satire parody show based on the canon set one year after nemesis. But the factor is they are so short staffed it takes a lot longer for them to do a ships interior then it does a ship itself. Until they can hire more people or have the proper motivation to do this. I doubt we will see much in the way of interior content even though the romulan faction is long over do for it. So whatever they do with Lower Decks might just involve meeting the characters involved in the show itself in some type of story arc so that can't be ruled out as a possibility. I think it will be a while before they do Lower Decks stuff because their focus might be the Picard show content next year. I'm not surprised they are reusing old interior bridges now for ships. It does save them time and allows them to get more done.
I don't think we will see any progress on bridges or decks until they revamp the system with a lower decks tv show tie in.
