This liberated borg KDF toon I have, that's fairly new (lvl65) Just completed "Uneasy Allies" and chose the kit reward. Opened the pack and it dropeed a Mk II kit and Mk II Plasma feedback cascade.
The reward says "Level appropriate". Doesn't this mean both shoulda been Mk XII?
Thats not the only thing: Half the time when this character departs a zone, it winds up to warp then just doesn't. -- and when I transwarp in sector space, it'll warp off, then charge up a wormhole, then warp again, when the ships already gone.
None of this happened with either of my other two toons.
Also if you click on the map to go from Qonos to Fleet Starbase you will just start moving to the direction you faced and moving out of Fleet Starbase range but returning from Fleet Starbase to Qonos works. I reported several bugs like that last 2 years and they get ignored. The problem though isnt us who got used to all that already, but how you explain a new player all that? A month ago a new player couldnt exit Fleet Starbase and asked help. He didnt know that the transporter range is bugged for KDF(JH|KDF alligned works fine) and you got to go in a small area in front and bit right or left of the transporter npc.

Ah man, I'm sorry to hear all that. With two ToS Feddies, I gotta say that KDF has been a great experience so far.to hear these issues are shared and prevailing is actually disheartening. I felt that a lot of love went into the KDF side, everything looks superb. Kinda sad to hear that the devs will let all that work die in update development hell..
Is the reason why I recieved Mk II gear from a level appropriate reward (at level 65), because the games not tracking my characters progress properly -- or is it something I stuffed up?
I love KDF(5 of my toons are KDF and only one Fed TOS Engineer) but they do "shoot themselves on the foot" with not fixing simple things like that, cause I am sure they lose new players who get that as first experience. I also believe KDF has the best looking ships and bridges but you got to be patient with some annoying but not groundbreaking glitches like those
My Discovery Character was at Vlugta last night. When finished, I clicked on the Sector Map to go to the Fleet Dilitium Mine. I ended up going in three different directions and going past the Mine regardless if I turned while at full stop to point in the right direction.
Sector travel using the map is not just bugged for KDF Characters.
Did you take the Mk IIs and put them in the Upgrade UI to see if they were freely upgradable to Mk XII?

No, not really. The game has bugs, but most of them apply to all factions.
KDF has or had a few unique quirks like with claiming the first level-up ship requiring you to finish a specific story mission (House Always Wins?) but I've played 5 KDF captains to endgame and beyond without any more glitches than with the feddie bears.

Yeah, I did (just in case) before coming here to post. Nup, gotta upgrade for real.
I love this toon. She's a liberated borg klingon engineer, pilot commando (whatta mouthful!) rockin' Furiadon Fangs. The thing is the ships are ridiculously gorgeous! The B'roth, Vo'quv, Qa'tal, Duvqu' are all just stunningly well modelled ships.
Maybe buying the KDF starter pack bugged it? I got it for the Liberated Borg boff and extra slots while it was on sale. Actually worked out cheaper than the boff on it's own anyway. Thing is, none of my other rewards bugged out.
If I delete the kit, can I re-run the mission and drop it again?
Ah, okay. sometimes when that happens the prize is still there, but it won't let you select it. Like the subspace field modulator from Skirmish. It's still in the prize list, but if you have one it won't let you select another one.
Perhaps if you dismiss the kit and it's not in your inventory or equipped then it will let you select it again.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
Lol, ya not gonna believe it. -- So I ran the mission again for the armour, and decided to click on the kit reward just see what happens, right?
Both the epic and the kit roll Mk XII this time! 😁
Thank you all for your help btw. Love this sto community and the game, despite coming here to gripe about the small stuff. This game is superb in so many more ways!
I'm not sure you're aware but for some time after 'Uneasy Allies' released, the Kit was Epic Quality when opened. They patched the Kit to be VR when opened after that patch. Needless to say, a number of people tried to run that Episode when they became aware of the patch before it was applied.

Ya, I love the KDF story. I have 7 KDF characters however you do have to put up with a few bugs to experience it tho that have been there forever. I too reeeeaaally think the Klingons have some of the best looking ship designs in all of Star Trek (so also do my Romulans) and I do love flying them as well.
When the Thompson Submachine Gun was first awarded it was Mk X and did not freely upgrade to Mk XII. They fixed that after a patch to be freely upgradable to Mk XII.
That was for a Level 65 Character.

Lol ok. Don't have it myself. I do see lots of people with it in ground TFO's. Good to know the devs fix this sorta thing when it's brought to thier attention.

What I like most about the KDF is that whole TOR / Conan / Red Sonja-in-space verve. The potential for high fantasy (unlike anything else in Star Trek) is what's so attractive about the Klingons.
With Feds, I started TOS because "that's my Star Trek", but it quickly becomes TNG which I'm not e biggest fan of..
Haven't done a space elf vampy yet. Reading around the net, it's at the top of the meta according to the echo-chamber and thus "last on my iist". I'm collecting warbird warp cores and stashing them for when I get around to it though. Right now I'm new to the game and enjoying bursting bubbles, breaking things, while I work out whats deep in the game. I'm not new to MMO's / ARPG though. -- "Forging ones own path is journey unto itself", as they say?
The devs have embedded some very cool stuff in the game. Some of it's genius to be frank. -- too easy to miss it if you don't wander off the (well) beaten track though! -- It can be a bit overwhelming at times.
As for the KDF. The Kahless plotline was very cool. If the material is there to expand on the Klingon narrative and delve deeper into their cosmic story; I'd certainly like to see it materialise. I get the impression the games designed to run (somewhat) collaboratively to whats going on in Star Trek film & TV. There's still a lot of Undiscovered Country in it's history though.

Well said, all of it although I myself have been playing this game since release and believe it or not I still can make a new character and never get bored! There's just so much to do to experience everything and I'm still finding lil things and patrol's I've never done before even to this day (I've been watching Star Trek in one form or another since I was a lil girl).
I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the game and hope to see you around the galaxy!

You don't need to make a Romulan to meta-game, you can do it just because Romulans are cool

Meeting Kahless is even more fun as an Orion pirate. The way he treats you with respect is a bit surreal since he hints that you're more of an honorable warrior than the majority of Klingons.

Thank you! I can totally believe STO never gets boring. So sure that (although new) I decided to drop on the LTS. -- Funny thing; just as I freed up the $$$ towards the LTS, the marketing folks drop a sale on it! This was much appreciated and probably "a sign" right?
I play (this game) on XBOX myself. My GT is the same as here; so if you are too, then feel free to drop me a hoy! ToS Trek will always be evergreen for me, this too, since I was a boy.

I felt like that was the gist as a Klingon as well.. and my character, too, feels the modern Klingons (as a people) have taken extensive liberties with their culture. Y'see, Sh'ashkuri Vriss (aka Ventress), is a Liberated Borg Klingon whom once aspired to be a Loresinger... ..when Malor still reigned over the Qo'nos.
For example: While modern Klingons see Vulcans and Romulans as 'enemies'; she views them as both self-absorbed and ineffectual. Great threats existed to this part of the galaxy, long, long ago too. Greater vigilance may have prevented her abduction and the deaths of her crew on an archeological mission, so long ago. -- Humans she views as "Lol what! They evolved..? w-was it an accident?" To her, humans are far too enamoured with accumulating individual wealth, to ever grow as a species. Yet she wishes them well with the Federation. She has great respect for the Andorians and Gorn however. Yet is baffled by the decline of the Orions as a species; whom at one time were so advanced.
I also wanted to say, I agree with your tweet and also spend (too much) time customising characters and shipmates myself! Even write up their bio's. Doing so can be a lot of work, but it's fun and really does help you personalise your characters journey; add a thematic layer of your own to the various themes in the game, and in doing so "complete the picture". It's also fun researching how to do that.

For even more fun, setup your boffs with good gear, and move sets that make then more dangerous in combat. A lot of people make the mistake of giving their boffs junk gear. But boffs are far more useful with good gear.

Yes I heard lots people say that boffs are useless etc etc and then I got all my boff team specialized and fully geared and upgraded. I can literally just move doing almost nothing and them to do the work while my drone army helps them. Boffs dont work well when people do not work on them seriously

Hmm Did you get the mission right out of the gate with the character because of all story arcs in the episodes tab being account-unlock as long as 1 character has completed them on the account? I have noticed rewards from missions like that tend to come out at the rank range the mission was opened and not at the proper player rank if it is ran later down the road.

It's the unique Rom navy one. I thought they were one offs. First time I ever had an epic drop from a reward too..

There seems to be bug that sometimes gives wrong mark of rewards (regardless of faction IIRC), so it seems you got hit with that bug the first time.
Beyond that KDF isn't really that much more bugged then any other faction.
That was for a Level 65 Character.
