An idea for developers: Add more customizable parts for current ships

Just an idea for the developers. I know it takes a long time to create a new playable ship. But for the currently available ships, how about adding more customizable components to select from? Like more saucer, hull, pylon and nacelle options. It wouldn't need as long of a development process and would give more options to personalize a ship. Just an idea.

    The problem is that STO is free to play. The STO revenue model is based on selling ships, and not just one ship per user.

    If you could make one Federation ship look like every other Federation ship, you could just go to the ship tailor instead of buying a second ship.

    That would make more sense if they separated the Paper Doll layout from the Ship Models. Then they could sell the dolls or parts. As it is, they really only release completed ships.
