This gets asked for often, if you search you can find many old discussions to read (but don't add to / "necro" them).
Cryptic wants you to play the event when the event is running. If they add a "ship infinity event" then people will stop taking the main events as seriously. People will skip an event figuring they can always do the infinity event later.
Cryptic has given us one expensive way to get single-character unlocks for event ships, and that is probably all that they will do: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Phoenix_Prize_Pack
Dave is correct. If you miss the event, then the ship goes into the Phoenix box as a single character unlock. Not doing the event means no account unlock.
I figure it's easiest to do the events, but I have loads of time to do them in. Best I can advise is if you won't be able to complete an event, slot the ship project and finish it the next year and do the new ship on another toon.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
Is there a way we can have an event or multiple events where we can earn the event ships that we have missed out on
Yes, we have these events several times a year. They're called phoenix pack events. Here's a link to the info from one earlier this year with all the details. A new phoenix pack event will come back probably at least twice before the end of this year. Keep in mind that the chances of winning are very low and the ships won are only good for single characters instead of account wide unlocks. Good news is it only costs dilithium to take a roll of the dice and even though you'll probably lose, you'll get (at the absolute worst) phoenix upgrades which are one of the best upgrades in the game. And since standard upgrading costs dilithium anyway, you're always encouraged to grab some phoenix packs since the dilithium return per upgrade is much better than using standard superior upgrades.
