Anyone know if the ToS Disruptor beams are bugged?

lexusk19lexusk19 Member Posts: 1,430 Arc User
Im trying to troubleshoot my build. I copied the one I use on my feds which gives me some where around 30 to 40k dps, but on my KDF Orion in a ToS D7, im doing 23k dps... I have yet to max her reps to T6, but shes got all gold gear mk XV. The ToS Disruptors just dont hit hard at all.. :/ If I switch to my cannons, I get the DPS back up though.

Yep, make sure the traits and consoles equipped are apples to apples, and also check the ship's weapon power setting.

Had the beam traits slotted and power levels were set how I have them on my Feds. :/

Same consoles on both ships? Does one have something like +15 weapon power as a ship trait while the other does not?

What ship does your fed fly?

You can't really just transfer build to another ship and expect the same performance. Piloting has a lot to do with it and it sounds like you're just better with your Fed ship then you are with the D7. The build is likely fine, I recommend just practicing with the D7 and getting used to how she flies.

You're numbers are generated by more then just your gear.

hmm that looks like the approaching agony phaser console that gives phaser damage 15%. you sure that isn't also throwing off your damage numbers since I would assume your fed uses phasers as well. And if you are also using set bonuses are those bonuses also disruptor and not phaser? And is the fed and the klink absolutely the same without any changes in minute things like endeavors or titles?

Unless she is ya know... flying the TOS Connie which has the exact same console and boff layout? It is possible to just copy a build and fly it just as well when its literally the same ship.

In that case, yes.. because the ships are copy/paste with only cosmetic differences. Even still, all other conditions would need to be 100% identical including Bridge Officer powers, Officer Traits, Personal Space Traits, Starship Traits, etc. Also, both characters would have to be on the same account so that they had the same level of Endeavor bonuses.

In most cases, no. Different ships fly differently and have different bridge officer seating. Expecting identical results on different ships is often unrealistic.

In theory one likes to think so. Unfortunately it is rather hard to confirm this in practice especially when teamed environments are used as measuring stick.

If this is about ISA or HSE which peeps run often to measure DPS or general performance I can only input that for me it is nothing unusual to have DPS variations in pug runs of round about 1/3 on the very same build *and* char. This assumes that nothing goes terribly right or terribly wrong in a run in which case it is possible that I do 3 times as much or less than I usually do on an average.

If the beams are in doubt there may be some other tests the OP could do.

At first I’d place both toons in orbit of a planate somewhere and compare the tooltips on weapon icons. Do they really display the same numbers?

Edit: I also assume both characters are of the same careers and none or both of them are Romulans and have the same bridge crew as far as racial traits are concerned. Sea already hinted that difference.

Indeed, but I'm assuming since she said copy paste and I've seen some of her posts before, she probably was using the TOS connie and just transferred the build to the D7 expecting it to work the same.

… so no one's going to inquire as to why the bridge officers have such auspicious names as pleasure doll 1 2 and unit... and 6 of 9 (I see what you did there). So? nobody? Alright. Moving on.

But yeah just recheck the consoles and set bonuses and such and you will prolly be fine, though as I stated before hand having absolutely identical damage on none identical toons is pretty tough but if a few small tweaks here and there help then do so.

Its possible they are bugged, seems like there's not much that could cause such a huge discrepancy between fed and klinks
