Is Magic:The Gathering taking manpower away from STO?

What with the closure of the Foundry due to lack of 'qualified' devs to keep it running and now the complete 'meh' that is Risa with it's recycled ship and additional *yawn* baseball rewards this year, is the development of Magic:The Gathering seriously draining manpower away from Cryptic's cash cow? (STO) I mean I haven't seen such lackluster effort put into games except when they go into 'maintenance' mode.

    DOOOMMMM!!!

I don't agree. For Discovery we've gotten voice actors from the show, a reworked tutorial for the mini-faction, story episodes, faction UI skin, TFOs, ships, space and ground gear, a reputation.

That doesn't seem a bit like "maintenance mode" to me.

Veiled DOOOOOOOOM thread indeed. And no, you're wrong to your questions.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I'd have to agree that this is a veiled DOOOOOM thread. We ALWAYS visit Risa every summer, just like we visit Q's Winter Wonderland every winter. There are a lot of games that reuse maps for recurring seasonal events.

What's with the sudden uptick in "game is doomed/lack of effort/they don't care" Doomsaying?

The only part I can vaguely agree with is not being thrilled by Moar Baseball. But I don't think it's because they're distracted, but just because someone's a baseball fan. ;)

(seriously, we've been getting "T6 upgrade" versions of holiday ships for awhile now - see Winter & the Breen; and people have been begging for the Risian ships to get that treatment. T6 Corvette is a good thing.)

I've not been the biggest fan of the Discovery era content, but I've tried it all out. For me the Emperor Lock Box and the new Section 31 Lock Box items (and ships) have been a lot of fun. I doubt that anything done for Magic has had any adverse impact here but ...... Cry 'Havoc' and let slip the dogs of war (if you must)!!

The only thing I suspect is they use VM servers for all games on one physical server, which could explain how the lag has risen over time. Also if you make a channel and invite people to it, these people can see the channel from NWO for example sooo - they are connected which takes me again into the suspicion they use same server. Other than that, its logical when a company develops a new game to move personnel between projects - that doesnt worry me as long as they give attention here. What I would want however is more effective bug fixing. Yes, they cant be perfect but right now they are slow

Well, Cryptic games share the same chat server, at least on PC. To my knowledge it's just the chat server that's shared.
