Featured Task Force Operation starting next week - "it will be very familiar", "something you've spent time with before" - it will be part of the Tier 6 coupon event, being the second out of three Featured Task Force Operations part of that - blog next week!
All old single-queue events (Crystalline Catastrophe, Mirror Invasion, Breach, etc) are being retired and rolled into the Featured Task Force Operation event.
The old main projects (i.e the 50,000 dilithium + event piece) for those retired events will be automatically completed. If the event reward is an account wide unlock, it'll still unlock for the entire account.
The old bonus projects (i.e exchange one event input for some dilithium and marks) will be removed without any compensation.
The old inputs themselves (Crystalline Shards, Voth Operative Transmissions, etc) are also being removed since they're now useless - no conversion, just reclamation of inventory space.
These queues may still be part of events but they'll simply be Featured Task Force Operation events instead of their own individual event.
They acknowledged Mirror Invasion in particular has a lot of problems that need addressing before it can return as an event.
Weekend Events (Kobayashi Maru, Arena of Sompek) are being retired as weekend events - instead, they'll be more like Red Alert Weekends.
The contents of the Weekend Event Store will be moved into the Phoenix Box, but the store itself will remain and items will remain claimable if you own them.
I either didn't hear or forgot if they mentioned what happened to the Weekend Event Vouchers, sorry!
Winter/Summer/Anniversary Events are remaining unchanged.
They want events to be more streamlined, more understandable for players who "don't play religiously" - this is only part of the changes planned for that.
Instances sizes for a lot of social maps are being increased soon to 35 (up from 20). That includes all social zones except Earth Space Dock, Qo'noS, DS9 and their respective space maps.
Cure Applied was removed from the Random Task Force Operations system because it's "not fun", they're looking into it since right now players don't find that queue fun and it also had a few bugs.
Do note that having widgets in the Event Reputation Projects is not necessary, a Project with 0 in it will still be auto-completed next week (implied to be update day, so expect it Thursday, not Monday.)
Weekend Event Vouchers seemed to be out-of-scope for the discussion and/or they just didn't remember them even when asked.

Weekend event vouchers will likely be going away too, but if you have enough to get something, you will be able to buy it.

I believe the sounds you can't transcribe were AmbassadorKael's rendition of the DS9 theme.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

The question, which was brought up in chat, was basically 'What if you have two Weekend Event Vouchers?' Can't get any more tokens, so yeah, buy now if you have the tokens, but there wasn't a response to any sort of discount on the Weekend Event Store purchases questions.
I'm guessing the answer that was brought up to 'what if you don't currently have the older project slotted?' could be the same for this one, which was that the Phoenix box is going to be updated '<...>between soon... <pause as Kael seems to remember something> and soon."
I seem to remember a comment on the last Priority One about how we'd get a crystalline event before the summer event starts. Maybe that's the "familiar" event.
The old inputs themselves (Crystalline Shards, Voth Operative Transmissions, etc) are also being removed since they're now useless - no conversion, just reclamation of inventory space.
You guys do realize that people spent their time and effort on getting these extra vouchers/inputs. Regardless of how we intended upon using these be it for later events or what have you, we still spent our time grinding for these extras. Don't you think it would be a tad more fair if you gave us some sort of compensation for this. Perhaps 2000 dilithium for each input you are destroying, since that is what they are actually worth. I mean if we had handed them in during said events we would of had marks and dilithium both but I think in all fairness we should at least get 2000 dilithium for each and every single input item you guys destroy.
In comparison it would be like one of us coming to your work place and deleting an entire 1,000 lines of code from your program you worked so hard on creating and deleting all your backups so you couldn't restore those lost lines of code. We however keep a backup copy and smirk at you evilly and say well I guess you are out of luck as you won't be getting those lines of code back from us. Now I ask you does this seem fair at all to you? You put in all that work and effort to finish those lines of code to make the program complete and we just come along and say hey we'll clean up those extra lines of code for you and give you extra space so you can retype it all.
The old inputs themselves (Crystalline Shards, Voth Operative Transmissions, etc) are also being removed since they're now useless - no conversion, just reclamation of inventory space.
Ok, I spent a lot of time gathering those, and you just decided to delete them all.

That's disappointing. I enjoyed having quick, little events that awarded account unlocks. They were nice breaks between the 14 day grinds. And I'm probably not going to play Kobayashi Maru or Arena of Sompek if they're just Red Alert weekends.
C. Complaining that you tried to game the system, by hoarding something you have been told your not supposed to hoard, and aren't being rewarded for it, is even MORE faulty.
You are able to save these to either unlock for character-bound rewards (Dilithium, rep marks) multiple times, and to use next time the event runs. "You were told" by who and where? It's a game. You do stuff, you get useful stuff.
The elimination of the Shards, etc. without 'compensation' is not right as these were ubiquitous Tokens for their respective TFOs and were NOT Event Bound. Replacement with TFO Commendation Tokens would be fair.

There's no compensation this time likely because they didn't want to come up with anything.
I know there is no compensation, as they stated, that wasn't my point. If they can sell these TFO Commendations in the C-Store, they could have certainly provided some sort of switchout. As it is, they are 'touching' those old items because they are throwing them away. Change the database item number to something else instead of 'oblivion'.

Given how many I've stockpiled across all my alts - just in case I couldn't finish some future event - I literally would have settled for ANYTHING rather than just seeing hours and hours of my life go for nothing and thrown out like it was worthless, which I guess it was.

No value for the tokens was ever guaranteed beyond the event they were part of. You chose to take a chance on them being worth something more than the spare trade-in in the future. That chance didn't pay off this time.
It now makes more sense why the Bajoran Interceptor Warp Core did not come with the Bajoran Interceptor that was purchased via the Phoenix Store. Its Reclaim originally was in the Event Reputation Store Account Reclaim Tab. After the initial puzzlement of why it wasn't included, it was stated that it was purposedly left out and will eventually be added to the Phoenix Store as a seperate purchase.
The Event Reputation Store Account Reclaim Store Tab would not work for Phoenix purchases. It would have had to have been made availible through the Dilitium Reclaim Store, which can be Character specific. They are deprecating the Weekend Event Store and moving content to the Phoenix Store, leaving it only for existing Account Unlock claims. Count on something like this happening for the Dilitium Store Reclaim Tab in the future as well.
Future special Rewards either will be added to the Event Reputation Store Account Reclaim Tab or go directly to the Phoenix Store and that is all. That will be the new 'old free stuff' equivalent of the Lockbox/R&D Promotion Pack.

Sometimes a stock of tokens like that comes from being just short of the amount needed to complete the main project, often due to outside issues (with me there were technical issues that happened during the run of two so far which caused me to miss the goal by a few days worth of tokens both times. Personally I am not too worried about it though it is a bit of a disappointment, but the fact remains that you cannot assume it is always some hoarding exploit.
A far bigger concern is the elimination of "one token" follow-up projects since it means that as people reach the goal they have no incentive to keep doing the event, and that means that anyone who is behind gets hosed if the event requires teams since the que waits will get longer and eventually it will be impossible to complete.

Not an issue. Unfinished projects will be completed automatically. Spare tokens will be removed as there will no longer be anything to use them for.

Also not an issue. Nobody needs any incentive to keep doing events that have been retired and will therefore never run again.
I have not used the one Token follow up Projects at all for the last few years. The extra Tokens/Items have been stockpiled for future use. I do not need the paltry Marks Rewards and don't need that 2,000 Dilitium. My Discovery Character has 1.4 Million Unrefined Dilitium as it is.
The Discovery Character is also sitting on 41 TFO Commendation Tokens.

I was not speaking of old retired events, I was speaking of new events that come up. Even with the "one token" projects for people to cycle alts through to catch them up on reps and dil there is a noticeable drop off in participation as people get the main project done which can be a problem in que events if this makes that drop off even more pronounced. Or (except for the winter, summer, and anniversary events) are the eliminating the entire concept of the special events you have to play so many days of during the event window to get a big prize?

And then basically laughed it off. More of a snort and sigh combined really from Kael, hard to transcribe.
