Advanced Difficulty RANDOM TFOs... How?

I can select difficulty for TFOs. When I select "Join Random TFO" from the top menu, it is always Normal level. When I enter the TFO menu and scroll to the Random TFO box on the top left, It shows the normal difficulty box checked with an unchecked Advanced box that I cannot access. I have changed Game Difficulty in options to Advanced, no effect.
Clearly the Advance box exists, I just cannot access it as described above. All characters are L65 and this is PS4

There should be a drop down menu attached to the "Join Random TFO" at the top of the TFO list as shown in this image. (the arrow pointed downward) Difficulty selection is located there.
As I am understanding your post, this is accurate and what I described as the menu box with icon in the top left of the TFO menu.
The problem is that I see the Normal Difficulty box (which is checked) scroll across the screen beside the Advanced Difficulty Box (Which is unchecked) beside it... However I cannot move the check from the Normal box to the Advanced box with either the Controller's L or R joysticks or the D-pad.
