Why does only the Andorian Th'Pev get moving Antenna's?

If you've played the Discovery mission “The Impossibility of Reason” for example, you'll notice that the Andorian officer named Th'Pev has antenna's that move and twitch randomly. While standing still, moving, in combat, in animations etc.

Why wasn't this feature given to all the other Andorian's in the game as well?... Seems kinda unfair?

Nothing 'unfair' at all. New animation software is probably why. It would take a considerable amount of time to re-do current models. It's not like it's game-breaking is it?

Nah, but I would have thought Andorian was Andorian.. And that the Discovery Andorian simply had different features, just like when the TOS Andorian's were introduced. My 2409 Andorian can use TOS era Andorian parts. And the other way around.

It just makes the gap when it comes to quality between new and old content bigger and bigger by the day. lol.

No worse than the old cutscene animation with NPCs waving their arms around randomly as they speak. I'd been letting that slide all these years, then I played "Empress Sela", whose cutscene animation has been redone. The characters actually move in an approximation of the way real people do; Sela doesn't do a windmill impression while talking with Hakeev about the importance of vengeance, for instance. (The "surveillance camera" footage also now looks like a surveillance camera, which is nice.)

I don't know that they'll ever have time to go back and redo all the animation, but it would be great if it could be done...

I'd be willing to bet that when we finally get DSC Andorians for our playable characters that the antennae aren't animated.

I'd be willing to bet that if the DID make playable characters' antennae move, people would just complain they're moving wrong.

More importantly, why does Th'Pev not wear a coat but my Andorian captain and Andorian first officer have to wear one?

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

    Why do birds suddenly appear
    Every time you are near?

It would be un-canon for TOS Andorians to have moving antennae since they did not move in TOS.

For other shows I'd have to go back and look.

Yeah they moved in ENT, in fact there was a system to how they moved (at least for Shran), so it looked like it was part of the andorian non-verbal communication.

They didn't move in TOS as TOS had neither the tech nor the budget to get them to move, so it wouldn't be non-canon for andorian antenna to move since the next time after TOS we had andorians as focus characters they did move.

All andorians in TNG, DS9, VOY or the movies were essentially extras.

Its possible that the Andorian NPC in the Discovery arc is a prototype test subject for animated Antennae. I think as far back as AoY at least there was talk of trying to animate at some point, as the non TOS Andorians were based on the Enterprise style Andorians. I can understand TOS Andorian antennae not moving, but Ent and DSC would make sense.

To be honest the "TOS" andorians are just the regular andorians without the facial ridges (in game that is), I could see them making special non-animated "TOS antenna" but I can't see them making it so that the antenna are always non-animated on TOS characters (well characters using the TOS style face).

When it comes to what's canon with TOS you got remember the limitations Star Trek was working at the time, For example we shouldn't assume that all races had their unique design styles in 2150 only to go a copy of federation style with their logos on the walls in 2260s only to go back to their own styles in late 2270s, but rather we should assume that TOS production crew wanted to make unique styles for each race but didn't have the budget for it until TMP.

Keep it up and Andorian movable antennae will show up in the Dilitium Store for only 3,000,000 Dilitium (before Fleet discounts). ;)
