Please update or refresh these ships. Add console slots, make them scale to tt6 and if you can't get the proton Cannon to upgrade then let us substitute a weapon. I love the unique look of the ships and with a good build they can be extremely flexible.

Also you highlighted one of the biggest complaints about them. The fused Proton Cannons.
While Cryptic has shown a renewed interest in hybrid ships like the Dysons... I don't know if the Dysons themselves are gonna have T6 variants anytime soon. They'd have to do something pretty impressive to get people interested after the bad rap the orignial Dysons got.

They already have the same amount of slots of Fleet T6's as they are Fleet level T5U ships. T6's will add a little bit more subsystem and a specialist seat. Other than that there is very little difference between T5u and T6. You are right about the Fixed cannons though. Need to freely scale to XV.

The Bad Rep those ships got were only due to the "Step between the Stars" DSD. It had special Captain abilities and a horrible build that you couldn't change or fix..
Outside of the Mission. Cstore Dsds perform very well when run as a "Science Ship." The "Tactical mode" is fairly useful when running Gamma mines (Disperasl Pattern Beta 3 is nice). The console set is trash for the below reasons..)
..That said..They are terrible "destroyers" and that where most (familiar with only energy builds) ran into trouble. The fused proton cannons didn't help (Not having other Proton Weapons/Regular Proton boosting consoles also wasn't good)..Not having Proton being boosted by exotic (other than the rep sci consoles) also hurt these ships consoles.

Heheh...2x Commander Temporal or Commander Temporal and Commander Miracle worker or any other specialty could be fun (even Pilot has abilities that scale with EPG at the commander Level..

I like that! It would make the Dyson Science Destroyer the only science ship with an experimental weapon slot...that I know of...which would be in keeping with its unique designation.
I... think the Mirror Crossfield and the new Section 31 ship do too, since they are also Science Destroyers.

Good idea, or one I had a few years back, make the cannon synergistic to the dominant energy type, so if you have Phaser, it becomes a Phaser-based Proton Cannon that levels with character.

1, no temporal seating, period. we have way too much of that especially on science ships. it be more of the same where we already have "better" ships for that. which is the last thing we want.
2. make it a full spec ship, with the gimmick and everything, it needs the help. I'm thinking pilot because it's fun and basically all of them are escorts, so a science ship with pilot maneuvers could sell just from the novelty. but anything be fine as long as it's not temporal.
3. buff proton as a damage type. I'l start with adding some crith to the Auto Targeting Modules from the dyson rep and add a pure proton version. make all proton procs and consoles scale with epg, and make sure all sources of proton damage work with all boosts to proton damage. instead of a console as part of the set have one of the t-6 dyson give a 360 version of the Dyson Proton Weapon, without needing the set to work with all weapon abilities, and not as an Experimental Weapon, that can be something else if the t-6s get one.
almost forgot.
4. remember your making a t-6 dyson not a new science destroyer.

Um..Naw its not. Its a very capable science ship. Which is what it is.
Armor has more to do with the player than the ship.Mine runs around 40% resting without armor consoles.
3/3 is what she starts off as. Only goes 4/3 when you activate Tactical mode (only recently really worth it with mines) but you lose the cmd sci and some aux power as a trade off.What really sucked was you have a 60 second cooldown between switching modes.

Agree with odinforever. I really like my DSD. I use it on tactical mode most of the time and it's pretty capable at that. I'm not fond of the fused cannon but I live with it. If they'd make it so can take it out and upgrade it, that would be an improvement. Or even take it out and slot another weapon in that slot.
I have the lobi ship on two of my sci characters, and while it isn't their 'main' ship, they still fly it on occasion.
I suspect it's mostly min-maxers who diss it.
Now a LTS and loving it.

I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
IF you ignored the Destroyer mode, you basically had an all-faction Vesta without hangar bay. So it was basically the second-best Science Vessel at the time. I flew the Romulan one a lot during the Dyson Sphere time before Delta Rising and its Tier 6 ships, and it really showed me the power of science.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
The utterly wretched setup from 'A Step Between Stars" nearly killed the Dysons for me, along with the look of the Fed version. The Romulan and Klingon ships look much better, especially after the change that allowed us to use faction materials. One of my Rom toons runs it as their main ship, mostly because of that baby D'Deridex look, only partly because it was pretty much the only top-tier science vessel available at the time.
The seating and console slots are respectable enough for T5-U, though I really would like a Sci or Eng Lt Cmdr seat in there. Maybe give up that Ensign Tac slot for it.

Doubtfull that there will be T6 Dysons Pack untill the Discovery Arc will end.
After all it would mean new 9 ships including Romulan (unless the Jems get their own too).
And - for now - there is only FED and KDF content added to the game.
I think we might see afew more ships using this mode-change mechanic first, before seeing the dyson ships come back, and I would hope it is not a set of six/nine like when they first came out but maybe one per faction at most. It would be interesting to see what the dominion would use design wise for their version of the dyson.
I would definitely say that having the fused proton cannons redone as a experimental weapon an giving the ship the experimental weapon slot would be smart, as than switching between the tactical an science mode you would lose the epxerimental weapon slot to gain the secondary deflector slot, or the other way around. Just the idea of this could be used in afew different types of ship combos, like a cruiser/science ship that switching out the cruiser commands for the deflector as an example, and that would be something I would love to see done a dyson science cruiser when they put out the tier six version of the dyson destroyers

I'm eagerly interested to see what their plans for all T1-5 ships are now they've opened the T6 scaling can of worms. I'd love to see a Dyson T6 update- but I think there's much bigger fish to fry at present.
Who the hell is going to buy T1-5 ships from the Zen store for anything other than costumes or ship sets now? Move the prior ship set consoles into new lockbox/lobi store types, grandfather in all prior T5+ purchases and update all ships to the new scaling model... voila!
They could then move T1-4 into EC/Dil purchases and then only introduce new console sets separately from ships... since each ship has their own unique "abilities" anyway. With consoles they could give basic "set" functionality outside of ship restriction, but added bonuses for particular types of ships. Would certainly get rid of the conflation between "skins" and "variants" if they just make all variants into skins and reduce the prices accordingly. They'd sure make a lot moire sales of sets that way and reduce the headaches of "upgrading", IMO.
I'd love to be able to buy the Concorde/Geneva versions for my Presidio- but I'm sure as hell not gonna spend $60 to do it.
