Unable to play certain story arcs

Since I logged on this morning I've been unable to play certain story arcs, they are greyed out and have no "hail" or skip buttons. I've completed all the story arcs on all my characters.

It all hinges on this: Did you complete the story arcs before Age of Discovery or after Age of Discovery...and the mission journal revamp....went live on Holodeck.

And since I am making breakfast...and want to grab a cup of coffee... I am going to cut and paste a post I made in a different thread....and if you could just take the info an apply it to your character.

    I hope it will help.

No just in general. Im looking for New frontiers or Iconian arc. Lots of those still greyed out.

And you did the "go-through-every-tab-in-Episodes-and-complete-or-skip-TFOs" thing?

As part of the Mission Journal revamp, they slipped in TFO's (pve queues). They added one as new titled missions in each and every Arc in the Episodes listing.

When the program activated this revamp...it saw the new TFO additions as incomplete missions, and marked the "story arc" incomplete. And that blocked progression forward and gray Episodes.

Plus, it seems that there are missions that are not supposed to be skipped by any character. I think, some characters have had those reset on them, too. Those have to be found and completed...but most of those are just go to such and such NPC and interact with them.

If "New Frontiers" is gray and when you click on that tab it has NO BUTTONS at all. It means, something in the previous Episodes is registering as incomplete. Just have to go backwards from that point, find that mission with a button and "Hail" it and do the mission (or skip it).

That should unlock stuff for you in Episodes.

Now, if you are missing things in "Available". That is something else.

Another thing that happened is they re-arranged the order some missions are played in and removed many....so there may be even be some missions you did not play if you look back through the Episodes.

Well, my 65 Discovery Character can only play 'Para Pacem'. Everything else in the Story Tab has no buttons on them at all, including Replay for Episodes that can be replayed in the 'Klingon War' ArArcc that I previously played.

you very likely have incomplete TFO wrapper missions as was referred to in the first reply.

Nah...that is not it...because the Mission Journal revamp came in with Age of Discovery....his character is a Discovery character.

He says he played the missions in the Klingon War...which are the first set of missions the Discovery character runs into. But does not say if he played any other story Episodes. But everything is gray, with no buttons at all....which indicates exactly that...did not play any other story Episodes.

So, probably leveled up this character using DOFF assignments after getting to Level 11 and unlocking DOFFing during a XP Bonus Weekend.

BTW...remember this: if you actually want to play the video game stories with your characters, avoid XP weekends and hold off on doing DOFF assignments for as long as you can.

I played three Episodes of the Klingon War Arc - the next to do was 'Secret Orders'. I dropped that to pick it up at a higher Level. Nothing is really grayed out just no buttons on anything but Para.

I did make it to 22 with Missions and a bit of Doffing. But from 22 to 65 was just Doffing but only to 44 during XP Weekend ( I only did from Sunday to morning on Monday). Since then Admiralty and Doffs plus some TFOs.

This change only came about since they 'unlocked' the Mirror Discovery Missions so you could play directly.

Did you check to make sure that the TFO intros are all still skipped if you skipped them rather than doing them before? People have reported that those have reset to not skipped, though it hasn't happened to me. Specifically, the one in Age of Discovery arc, since that's the one before the greyed-out parts.

I checked out everything tonight. While a regular Federation Character has the 'Age of Discovery' and 'Mirror of Discovery' Arcs at the bottom of the 'Episode' Tab Arc list, my Discovery Character has them first.

The Discovery Character can Hail Episodes in the 'Availible' Tab but only 'Para Pecum' in the 'Episodes' Tab.

Of the 'Klingon War' Arc 'Welcome to Earth Spacedock' says it Cannot be replayed. 'Diplomatic Orders', 'Stranded in Space', and 'Researcher Rescue' all say Contact Mission Simulator (as they have been played), but there is no Replay Button (or any other Button for that matter). No Buttons, not even grayed out.

'Secret Orders', the next in line in the 'Klingon War' Arc, I had picked up weeks ago but I dropped it the other night to pick it back up at Level 65, instead of the 60 at which it was listed. This one now has no Buttons to pick it back up.

I looked on my Discovery character, who had finished through Yesterday's War, and found that the Klingon War missions were indeed unavailable in any way for her, but everything after that, up through Yesterday's War, that would normally have a replay button, had one. There was no skip button on Para Pacem, either. I guess that, since those missions are focused on Discovery, they're required for Discovery characters, and they're somehow blocking the episodes in the Klingon War arc from replay or hail options, but apparently not blocking any others from Romulan Mystery onward, if you had already completed them.

The 'Age of Discovery' Missions had the Replay Button. I played 'Para Pecum' and as expected 'Illusion of Communication' was now availible. I had played nothing else outside the 'Klingon War' Arc so absolutely nothing other than what I mentioned above was availible in the 'Episodes' Tab.

I managed to clear all the New Romulus Missions that were in the 'Available' Tab and 'Hot Lead' for Nakura.

Tomorrow, hopefully, I will be able to unlock the rest of the 'Episodes' Missions.

I finally got around to running both of them on my Discovery character. As soon as I finished Illusion of Communication, I got replay and hail buttons back for the Klingon War arc.

Oh. and nobody can skip them, it's just that it's only an issue (right now) for Discovery characters, since the arc is placed so early for them, rather than at the (current) end of the list.

I went on my Discovery character tonight...and, sure enough, the "Mirror of Discovery" stories are added IN BETWEEN the "Age of Discovery" (tutorial for the Discovery Feds) and "Klingon War"....effectively blocked "Klingon War" for all the Discovery characters.

Because the program would see the "Mirror of Discovery" as not completed. LOL!

See the Discovery Character's Episode listing and it is quite clear. https://i.imgur.com/TxZBM05.jpg

SOOOOOOO expect more of the same....as they ADD more and more missions for Discovery Characters and slip them in at the front of the others.
