Corfeld Mining Plasma Cutter Secondary Attack

the secondary attack from the corfeld mining plasma cutter (episode reward from storm clouds gather) seems to not being able to hit enemies that are on higher (or lower) ground than you are. an example would be in miner instabilities, the tal shiar agents on the walls as example or in the main base when you're on top of the hill and the enemies are below you. other examples would be a ramp or something like that.
mainly a problem with a higher range, at close range (<5m) it doesnt seem to be a problem.

saw this in the normal mmo mode, havent tried the shooter mode.
