Targeting is bugged

Changing targets, specifically in space, is kinda busted. I always use a key to "target next enemy". It's always targeting the closest enemy. I then have to press it 7-10 times before it changes target. Sometimes I can press it 20+ times and it refuses to change target. When it does change target, it will start targeting random ships, usually the ones far out of range. It will even target ships off screen, even though I have it set to NOT do that.
