Feedback on reputation overhaul

First, I can confirm that with both characters born on Tribble and characters transferred to Tribble from Holodeck, the sponsorship is automatic. I was worried when I first loaded a fed toon that had not run the Omega rep and did not see the change in points rewarded for the daily and hourly submissions. However, once I went to a toon that had completed omega and went back, the toon had the double points sponsorship added.

I also transferred toon from Holodeck that had completed most reputations. All checked Tribble toons now have the sponsorship applied.

I did notice that it looks like either Jem'Hadar toons cannot apply sponsorship or that the Gamma rep does not have the automatic sponsorship ability.

On a side note, switching characters on the character selection screen now ends up with an extreme close-up of your BoFF's feet and you character is "missing". Logging in and backing out fixes this until you swap characters.

Also, a note: What happened to the progress bar? The progress bar is gone and that's annoying.
  • nadiezjanadiezja Member Posts: 629 Arc User
Amended: I got the progress bar back. But the interface option to just click to bring it back is gone - you have to close and reopen your character pane - and... thirty days of dailies? Really? I don't usually complain about The Grind in this game - 'tis just more game to play - but even I think that's a bit much.

If you click on the portrait that’s meant to show off the theme of the reputation, you’ll get the progress bar back. It’s unintuitive, for sure.

  • nadiezjanadiezja Member Posts: 629 Arc User
    That really is unintuitive.

Also... the cost on the item discount feels off, for anyone who's not as much an altaholic as I am. It's 20k dilithium, 100 marks, and 5 advanced marks (which converts to 600 marks), which means that, to save on marks, you need to buy 12 items from that rep. I can do that easily, given that I have a bajillion alts and make more all the time. You need to buy 40 items to save on dilithium, and that... might be a bit much even for me.

The fleet ship module and respec were sold to us as free, but they cost 100 marks each. That's... not a huge issue, but it felt un-right.
  • nadiezjanadiezja Member Posts: 629 Arc User
This is full of good stuff! But the costing feels off in a lot of areas.

They're absolutely crazy if they think I'm going to grind that all out another time and a half, as well, to get to 250k that is.

Ok this may seem silly; I didn’t even know there was a “reputation sponsorship” for those that completed Tier V. Chalke that one up to “What they could teach better”. Anyway. I already leveled up 7 Characters to Tier V on all Reputations, and now I find out that I cannot claim “reputation sponsorship” going forward? Not Cool. Especially if The new tier 6 is going to cost 2500 marks or 80 Days to reach. Please address this. reputation sponsorship should be able to be unlocked at any point, not just in the beginning

Sponsorship is going to be free once you have T5 on a rep. All your characters will automatically be sponsored for that rep. You don't have to claim anything once AoD comes out.

What about the new AoD toon that we will have to Inevitably need to create?

Will the reputationstores also get updated to the new energytypes that will become available at t6? Also will Counter-Command get a beamoption to the turret in the set?

Not all console was updated to include the new energytype, Gamma console has two +20% polarondamage.

Typo in Delta Equipment Rewards Space Equipment Sets info area - Neutronic Torpedo - "Radiation interfers with a ships..." - should be "interferes".
  • hossbudhossbud Member Posts: 5 Arc User
Omega, Nukara, and New Romulus "What are some equipment rewards in this reputation?" boxes not present under rep info. Is this on purpose?

Your values are wrong. 3030 Marks (1530 Sponsored) and 100 days (50 Sponsored) needed to go from ZERO XP. From T5 it's 1805 Marks (905 Sponsored) and 60 days (30 Sponsored). This is providing you ONLY do the 20 hourly Projects. You can decrease the time doing the hourly, but the cost will go up.

Oh yeah, One more thing. can we get a single button click to fill in all the Marks + Exp + EC, instead of having to click on each one individually? This is the simple UI improvements that would really improve everyone’s Quality of Life in Game.

The lettering/text in the Active Reputation project boxes are microscopic.

I keep getting the little gift boxes when I finish filling in the project...instead of after project completes...I assume this is because it is in test.

I actually have time to play on Holodeck tonight...so I am gone.

250krep is not viable, 175 or 200 would be realistic, i get it, there is grinding involved, but soemtimes that is a bit too much and you can start losing players to titles that require a lot less attention.

Stupid Forum Spam Prevention, Apparently I can not post more them 5 times within some time period (1hr-24hrs) even if those posts are just edits to a post I just made. I.e. just try to update the same post 5 times and boom denied. Anyway...

You are correct, I think I was looking at the exp cost and dropped a few zeros and labeled it marks. Anyway for those who are interested, this should be the full cost. Total Marks are always +5 to claim the tier. And if you are sponsored, just half all the numbers.

    • Total Exp 5000
    • Total Marks 65
    • Total EC 30,000

    Rep Level 3
    • Total Exp 32,500
    • Total Marks 395
    • Total EC 195,000
    • Total Days 13

    Rep Level 4
    • Total Exp 60,000
    • Total Marks 725
    • Total EC 360,000

I haven't seen any additions to the reputation stores. Will the alternate energy types be made available in here too at some point?

I have 10 toons that are end-game, and going through and kicking the daily mission on each Reputation that they have Marks enough for an additional 30 days is far too much. I took 3 Reputations to T6 on a Tribble toon, and after just that I'm about to declare Tier 6 Reps a lost cause for me, pending there aren't usability improvements (one click starting of the daily would go a long wa.y) I'm likely to skip it entirely and just play whatever new missions come out and then go on hiatus until more episodes.

I would like the second the motions for reducing 250,000 to 200,000, as it is a much more reasonable progression. As well as the single click suggestion.

I would furthermore, request that we regain the ability to queue up projects. Ideally, I would have liked the ability to have a longer queue, but have received the opposite.

Additionally, the automatic sponsorships are not working with my Jem'hadar. However, since he is a Zen'hadar, and they had a similar problem when first introduced, I am not surprised, but I hope it will be rectified before launch.

    Thank you.

When Ambassador Kael said the T6 reps won't follow the same exponential curve as T1-T5 had, it sounded like T6 might be a bit longer than the T4-T5 however it was the exact opposite. I assume that all the numbers haven't been worked out for final release else I doubt I'll even bother with T6 Reps. I believe that between 50-80k is reasonable for the gap to T6.
  • bejaymacbejaymac Member Posts: 448 Arc User
    Rep Level 6
    • Total Exp 250,000
    • Total Marks 3005
    • Total EC 1,500,000
    • Total Days 100

Not quite, when you complete the T5 upgrade project you unlock an automatic sponsorship for your toon, so from that point on you will be getting 5000 rep points instead of the 2500, which means T6 will be complete in 30 days using 900 marks.

Oh and it also unlocks an auto sponsorship for your account for each rep you get to or have at T5.

Yes, pls Cryptic do this! It's long overdue.

The current system to lvl up reputations is just awful.

You need 10 CLICKS to select, slot and fill only one rep. And why do i have to confirm every single resource i spend. Why can't i do all at once?

This UI is so bad, i tend to not doing lvl 6, although i have the resources. Only because of the clicky work, which i hate.
I would have to do it on only 3 toons but that makes 12*3 reps= 36*10 clicks= 360 clicks per day *30 days makes 10.800 times clicking on the same buttons to level up from 5 to 6. Insane!

Do you think dull button clicking in a row brings fun into a game Cryptic?

Pls make just an levlup button (for all available reps) and an approval afterwards. Done.

I find the amount of grinding necessary to complete reputations with all my characters to be excessive and insulting, to the point I am likely to forego T6 reputations altogether. I will say no more about that, but I also want to give some additional feedback.

Cryptic, you wasted this development time. Unless something changes from what we now see on Tribble, you have squandered the chance to:

    * Standardize the gear so that older reputations have appropriate equipment, such as singularity cores, kit modules, and alternate weapon types such as cannons.
    * Provide environmental suits such as Nukara has, or going the other way, balance the Nukara suits to be viable rather than suicide suits,
    * Repair Dyson equipment so proton weapons and consoles work properly.
    * Add additional proton weapons so a Dyson spec would be viable.
    * Add alternative shield sets to other reps such as Omega and Romulan.
    * Add BOFFs like the Omega Borg science officer.
    * Meaningfully improve the UI to minimize mouse and clicking time, which is a barrier to people with certain neuropathies such as myself. A button "fill all reps" would be greatly appreciated. Barring that, a "queue daily project" on each rep's page would be very helpful.
    * Increase the number of project slots so we can queue a whole set rather than two--or now, one--item.
    * Add checklists or other markers so we can easily see what projects we might still want to work on.
    * Add DOFFs that modify specific reputation items or even traits or reputation progression.
    * Create relevant vanity shields. For example, the Terran vanity shield could be an actual Terran Empire-like shield, and the Lukari's could look like Kentari equipment.
    * Standardize the outfits so that armors can be used universally with other outfit pieces, like the Terran and Lukari set do.
    * (more will be added)

What happened to the "Slot Next Project" box? Is this option usually gone for testing on Tribble?

BTW...would have been nice if the Vanity Shields were IN that console on Drozana, so I wouldn't have to go through clicking hell. Especially, after all the visuals were posted to the media.

Also, Omega not looking "Borgified" enough was one of the complaints I heard on the Vanity shield. Some folks really like these Borg guys.

OK...after observing the Rep projects on Tribble for a bit longer...I notice I CAN slot a second project.
And it will pop up into the Active Project slot once the current one is over.

I just can't SEE which project is slotted because the "next project" box is not visible. Is there a way to get that to show up, again?

And I agree with everyone else...I just took the Gamma Rep from ZERO to Tier 5....and this is a complete slog fest going from Tier 5 to Tier 6. I am just going to have to finish after I get breakfast on the table.

You would never do this in game, as each project would take 20 hours to complete, so there'd be no RSI inducing clickfest.

Although I do think an extra 150k xp for Tier 5 to Tier 6 is too much. 100k is reasonable.
