Also in some cases the transformation mechanic was rather buggy too. Switching from a Commander Tactical to a Commander Science may have had something to do with it. Also the fused Proton Dual Heavy Cannons.
My impression was that the Dyson Destroyerswere some of the worst selling ships that they had made at the time. They have never been popular and I would be really surprised to see them make T6 variants of those ships.
That's because the showcase mission for them was TERRIBLE. They could have stupid OP stats and I would never buy those ships just from the shear nightmare of having to run step between stars so many times with those terrible setup ships. And with the level 65 scaling, it's freaking torture to have to use that ship in that mission.
I had somehow blocked that from my mind.. man, that part of the mission is pure torture. Whoever designed the setup of that ship for use in the mission is quite simply an idiot.
Thank you, lianthelia, for so quickly (and with no apparent sense of irony!) illustrating Rattler's point.
Yeah...because and I quote "we aren't planning on never making another Romulan or JH ship"
Just instills me with such a great sense of hope....because you know...the Devs over and over and over again have never done anything like this? They've never abandoned a faction because it isn't as profitable as Feds.
But I do find it confusing that they went straight to T6 with this ship unlike the Steamrunner which got added as T5.
The Steamrunner orignally came out when T5 was top tier, back when they tried doing a Steam Starter Pack. $20 on Steam got you a T1 and a T5 and a couple other things. BUT... people abused the system and Cryptic pulled it off Steam. Eventually it was converted into the C-Store pack we have now.
One question I do have, is the Lafayette going to have the traditional Nawlins as an alt skin? (Never been a fan of the Andromeda, I don't like the square nacelles.
I was under the assumption that it was new when it was added to STO around when T6 was already available, I was not aware of it being released around the time of T5.
Im happy the Feds and Klingons are getting new ships. But bout the Jem'hadar and Rommies. I get why the cardassians dont get one
Same reason there is no TOS era version of the ship either.
Yeah, no. TOS is not a f(r)action. Roms are. I knew there was a catch, the moment they said Roms could use Fed ships now: and the rat I smelled, was that Cryptic would use it as a lazy excuse not to make Roms ships any more. What a disgrace.

Can't tell whether you're being sarcastic or not, but the very fact they go out of their way stating "we aren't planning on never making another Romulan or JH ship" is just Cryptic for "We don't intend to make Rom ships any more."

Same here - this could (assuming decent stats) be my first day one C-Store purchase since...I actually have no idea when or what.
I plan to make mine a beam based escort. I doubt it will have 5 forward weapons its prolly going to be a standard 4/3 layout with cmd tac ltc eng style seating semi standard heavy escort.
Truthfully a 5/2 would be good for it and make it a beam based escort driven ship since that style is few and far between. Plus if you look at the ships design its basicly a flying saucer, no where really to mount much in the rear. For mine I plan to go with DBB's and omni and give it as much forward punch as I can.
If its a 4/3 style set up I might just go with single arrays/omni with a photon torpedo in the front. Wish they had made the sensor pods torpedo launchers it would have made the ship more intresting. Guess we will have to wait and see what the sensor console does, but i dont get my hopes up when it comes to consoles very few are worth it.

You're not getting Dominion ships because their faction hasn't long been released. By extension, you're not getting Dominion or Romulan ships because these two factions were an afterthought.
Because Cryptic have recently opened up what is playable (in terms of ships) to the Republic Players, the need for more Republic ships is reduced. It's all about marketing.
Doesn't matter if we even hear from Ambassadorkael himself that we'll still get Romulan ships. The fact we're not getting one now is apparently proof positive that we're never getting any new Romulan or Jem'Hadar ships ever again and its time to pull out the pitchforks.
Honestly that kind of kneejerk response just makes me facepalm. I'm frankly happy we're getting another canon ship. And yes this ship will have Galaxy style parts to make the New Orleans as she was back in TNG times. We don't have to stick with Andromeda style parts.
It's an understandable reaction though, isn't it? Since launch the Republic have always been short changed. The Republic, more than the Feds or Klingons were a short-term money maker, exactly as the Dominion is. The Dominion faction will ultimately suffer the same fate before long, and everyone will have returned to their (primarily) Blue (Federation) characters.
What amuses me is anybody who genuinely didn't see something like this coming. STO has been around long enough and we've seen the way in which releases happen (and what is released). Some people are a tad too optimistic, and then when reality hits, they'll complain about something that's missing.
Cryptic has made it clear that there will never be a T6 Nova or a T6 Vor'cha.
They also once said there'd be no Tier 5 or Tier 6 Constitution. We now have that. Don't put too much trust in what Cryptic have said.
There was potentially a reason they weren't allowed to release a Constitution Class with high-end stats. There's no logical reason why the treatment cannot be given to the Nova and Vor'cha, and thus for the moment, I'm calling BS on the notion that they'll never be one. I can only assume that someone doesn't want them to be released, though eventually they'll exhaust other ideas and it'll be a case of what's left.
Looking ahead, canon designs need to count for something. It'll happen.
I hope they have a "classic" New Orleans skin for the ship, that resembles the one seen in TNG. The new one is nice and all, but I'm a traditionalist.
I suspect the New Orleans will be a T3 or T4 unlock, possibly purchasable separately (like the Constellation or Venture). Purchasing that ship unlocks the skin on the T6 Lafayette.

Really? As many things as they have on their to-do list and you are surprised that your favorite thing wasn't next?
My character Tsin'xing
Now that you mention it I haven't gotten my T6 Voth City ship.
Also TNG did have a bigger version of it.
Be happy for those 6 players.
From Cryptic's point of view Romulans, Jem'Hadar AND Cardassians all DO get one since all 3 can fly their faction's T6 ships.
I had somehow blocked that from my mind.. man, that part of the mission is pure torture. Whoever designed the setup of that ship for use in the mission is quite simply an idiot.
Cardassians are not a faction though. They're a species unlock for Fed and KDF.

Anbassadorkael has confirmed it will have New Orleans parts.

From the Ship Thread:
I was happy to hear this, the new skin is ok to me, but I like the classic one better.

Nice! Thanks for linking Sea.
I like it how cryptic honors some of the requests made in here over the years and hope that those who made get it.

I'm thinking 4 TAC and either 4 SCI/2 ENG or 3 SCI/3 ENG for the C-Store version, with the Fleet being 4 TAC/4 SCI/3 ENG
