Game Freezes at Cryptic Logo

Just got a new PC a few weeks ago, and last week for some reason, when I launch STO, it will freeze at the Cryptic logo screen, and then once it finally starts loading, gets to the end, closes, and launches a "fatal error: ERROR: Patch Server Connection Error: the connection was idle for too long".

I've tried launching the game separately from the Arc loader, thinking it might have been that. However, it didn't seem to help. I notice that when I close the game, the STO launcher will re-open, and then start a 5 gig patch, but I've already downloaded this patch already. (I let it do it a second time just to be safe) It'll then ask me to take 10-20 minutes to re-check all the files in the STO launcher. I did that a couple of times too.

Could this be a patching issue? Is there a way to clear the cache and force it to re-download all the latest patches from scratch? I never had this sort of problem with STO on my old PC.

Go to your STO folder..Look for cache and wipe it clean..While your there clear out all the logs too..There maybe a TRIBBLE load of it..I clear all this gunk out after every log off..

Did you port the game files from your old system? Is it on a seperate partition or on the same as the OS? There is a way to force it to re download everything but its a very iffy thing and you could just end up downloading the entier 18GIGs of the game..

I didn't import anything from my old PC, it was just a fresh download.

But i'll try clearing out the cache and the logs to see if that helps.
