Killing the Crystalline Entity in 3 Seconds

Found this very recent video of some folks taking down the Crystal in 3.7 seconds:

    How recent is it? People were getting insane DPS numbers back when Kemocyte laced weapons was buffing itself.

    Couple of weeks. It’s a team using the quantum warhead module setup that everyone has been complaining about.

    Don't read too much into that video. It takes at least 3 seconds to travel to it so it's not a CCA run.

    I could be wrong but can't only two of those ships use the T6 escort torp module?

    There was a time when the quantum phase torp did crazy damage in CCA, something to do with the anti-shield damage acting on a target that is supposed to be weak against some anti-shield things like Tachyon Beam.

    It also looks like they only started firing with a little over 3 minutes to go in each of those runs, which would suggest about 90 seconds of setup time. That's basically a lot of work to achieve a time in queue that's maybe a little longer than your average public queue.
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

    Honestly, not that impressive. Even in pugs that thing tends to die before it fires it's first burst and that is after the last "rebalance", so kitting out a team to specifically beat the easiest queue we have isn't that much of a feat.

    Also that. Why bother wasting a couple minutes for a set up when you can kill that snowflake in less time.
    Sure it's funny to see it's HP go down in a couple seconds but when you need 2 minutes of preparation for a whole team to ready it's enemy specific burst it's not really a X-seconds speedrun.

    They should go back to the old version of the entity, the one that could instantly heal from 1% back to 100% if a single player fraked up.

    However, will never happen. Comments here and elsewhere suggest that there are too many players that WANT something for nothing. (namely preposterous easy PvE/events that last less than two minutes).

    Indeed. It's bad enough the game is already STO-Farmville, never mind people wanting STO-Justloginandgeteverythingwithoutputtinganyeffort.

    Anyway. I love the game, but just wish the game was a bit more serious in terms of Star Trek and less 'On the rails'.
