What's with new party poppers and their effects only lasting a few seconds?

One thing I have noticed as the title says the new party poppers seem to have effects that only last a few seconds now, it doesn't matter how far you set the "max physics debris objects" slider they still only last seconds, balloons were the only thing to actually take advantage of this setting it seems.

Probably meant to not overload lower end machines. Usually when the Anniversary event comes around... they get spammed like crazy.

But with the Max Physics Debris Objects slider setting in the options that wouldn't really be a problem since people can lower this setting.

Remember the old party poppers when they were a bit too generous with the balloon size/duration? You could basically shut down a hallway in ESD. Sometimes it's OK when things are temporarily wrong

Most people, average players or those with better things to do, aren't going to dig into their graphics settings to adjust something so they can play because some over zealous,... person. Can't stop spamming a party popper. Easier to limit the output of the popper. You still get to see/hear it and it doesn't overload lower end system.

Because some boring person at Cryptic put an expire timer on them, I suppose.

And seconded, the giant balloons were pure awesome.

There's also the fact that apparently... what one person sees (even the user) won't always match up to what another person sees.
So for example with the 6 year anniversary popper, one person might see the cupcake, while someone else may see coins.

I'm glad the party poppers got slapped with a bit of nerfing. Some players seem to keybind those things to continuously activate & it gets annoying imo. I can understand certain occasions wanting to use them for celebration, but constantly is a bit much imo. I also have collected 1 of each year's poppers too so I hope this year's popper is good & fun as well.

The lag it could cause, wasn't.

The effects should last longer though, I agree with that.

The settings are set to low by default in the first place.

Yea... no game will do something so silly...
