Stuck on Emergence Loading Screen - Game Won't Start *POSSIBLY SOLVED*

All was well for me playing STO at 12am and 12pm today...but come 9pm (all my timezone time) and the game just gets stuck on the Star Trek Emergence loading screen. What's worse is that I can't close STO manually, I have to hard-close my PC to stop the madness and the never-ending loading cycle.

I'll give the game a few hours and try again with a force verification in the hopes all is well...

Nope, still buggered up. WELP!

So, 11:30pm I try again and launch in safe mode. It works...but my graphics have been set to min. I reset them to low and play a bit. All is well and the Borg Red Alert STF runs just fine.

I log back out and see if I'm good without launching in safe mode. Yep, it's fine again. But color me dubious as to if this is just a one-off fix and the problem could come back to haunt me. No matter, I'll leave such things here least other folk run into such woes and something they read of my own woes and attempts to fix helps in any way...



But seriously Cryptic, what the heck was that?
