New ships

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Just wondering if there will be T6 version of the tholian recluse or any other T5 lock box ships??

    It's not a matter of "if" only of "when". Since the temporal sci ships got a visual makover on tribble recently it's probably gonna be their turn next.

    thanks just i would like to get more out of my recluse but could only do it if they upgrade it again

    If the Recluse would get an upgrade to T6 you would need to get it once more from Lobi store (if i remember correctly).
    Still, if you really want a Tholian T6 with hangar, and pretty impressive other ablities, you can go hunting for Tarantula Dreadnought : https://sto.gamepedia.com/Tholian_Tarantula_Dreadnought_Cruiser
    It's Very Rare drop from Mirror Incursion or Infinity Lockbox, but sometimes you can buy it from other people (don't know for how much though....)

    I see no difference between the two and I doubt they would update the temporal sci ships of every faction EXCEPT the canon Fed one.

    Hey mods, can we have a whole forum area JUST for threads like this? They are too numerous and annoying in the General Forum area. >:)
    Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

    Here is a question though if we see a c-store ship using the MW spec int he commander seat, what kind of spec gimmick might it use that fits the idea of MW? As when the other primary specs came out the c-store ships tied to them had a gimmick that was linked to the primary spec released. Such as pilot ships an the pilot spec using the pilot maneuvers, or command an the command battle-cruisers which used the inspiration mechanic.

    New Galaxy variant? There's plenty of other ships still in need of the T6 treatment which I would rather have over yet another Galaxy class ship, and we already have the Galaxy X in addition to it. Unless there is a possibility that this new Galaxy variant is a Tier 7 ship I have huge doubts about that.

    However if they did a fully tactical variant of the Galaxy ship in a similar way that the Nebula class is kind of like a science version of a Galaxy then I guess I could see that as interesting.

    I'm not so sure that's a new Galaxy variant, as it looks wrong for the current design language of STO's 25th Century ships. The Impulse Engines on the Saucer look like they were just copy and pasted from a Sovereign class onto it. It looks even farther from the new quad-nacelle ship that showed up on trekmovie.com's article on the LeVar Burton being in S14, that likely is a full spec Miracle Worker ship, than it does from the rest of STO.

    It looks vaguely familiar, maybe an old concept or an entry into the 'Design the Next Enterprise' contest that got moved over to Arc when the rest of the site moved over?

    Perhaps they are planning on the next three ship pack for the 2018 8 year anniversary, however I had hoped we would be getting tactical ships this time since last time it was the Vesta science ships, and before that it was the Odyssey flagships.

    That um... that's definitely a thing. I imagine that's a Miracle Worker ship. They do have a tendency to pick the worst angles to show off their new ships, so I guess we should wait and see. But uh... that doesn't look good

    Otherwise, yes I've heard rumors of T6 Temporal too, but if they had any substance, it wouldn't have dragged on for so long, meaning they are bogus if they can't predict something obvious in a timely manner.

    What's also sad is I fully expect them to be minor skin tweaks for their Romulan & Klingon counterparts, with copy-paste stats, and fail to have full temporal specialist ship status despite being the hero temporal ship of Star Trek.

    Waiting to see more of how it looks, as I have found some of the ships can look quite terrible from one angle, but than other angles it looks quite a bit better. To me it looks kinda like a union between the Heavy cruiser, and either the exploration class or a chimera destroyer class.

    What this game needs now are replacements for the shuttles and fighters from year one.

    What I wish they would do is give us a basic, generic shuttle/fighter layout (BOFF seating, weapons, consoles, etc.), and then when they release new carrier pets for hangers, the pets would unlock a new skin for the generic shuttle/fighter.

    Looks like a T6 Atlas class... i'm pretty sure it looks better from a different angle.. Cryptic should ask @kurumimorishita for some really artistic screenshots to sell those beauties!, what do you think, @ambassadorkael#6946?
