So aft the patch we ll have our GPL rewards reduced by 80%
Devs thats a VERY BAD solution to the question what we can do with all the GPL we get
what is about casinos on ferenginar?
what about giving us SOMETH to do with GPL instead of neving it away?

Lately I have reduced the time I spend playing this game by about 80%.
With a corresponding decrease in the amount of money I spend on it as well.

What matters is that there STILL isn't anything we can do with the GPL we already have. There's been nothing said on the subject aside from one post by Kael that "We're working on something, but were unable to get it done for the release" and then it never happened.
Maybe I'm just blind to proper game design, but I don't see the point in leaving a dead currency to rot and killing another, instead of actually reviving the dead one and leaving the other alone.
The devs are looking to bring the GPL income rate down while providing something else (ie. EC) that players can take an interest in (who aren't concerned about GPL for the moment.) They do have plans to add items to the GPL store (with the usual caveat that content in development is content they aren't going to talk about yet because plans can change) but they are concerned about how to price GPL items (so it'll take some effort but not a ridiculous amount).
With this change in the GPL economy, we may be entering into another data collection phase, so I wouldn't expect to see GPL store updates for a wee bit (maybe 14.5, if it's still something Cryptic's working on.)

If anything, cutting the drop rate suggests they really are preparing to put something up for sale. Don't want to inflate the currency too much. If they weren't going to add anything, it wouldn't matter if players were drowning in GPL.
I don't really have any expectations as to the quality or usefullness of whatever they eventually put up, though.
my point is 1st we get thrown a lot of GPL with ppl including me saying what can we use it 4?
and instead of introducing usefull ways of spending all the GPL they nerv it
...eh? I just explained that,
- Cryptic has plans to add new items to the GPL store.
- Those plans require accurate pricing.
- For that, they need to look at how changes to the GPL economy are affecting people.
- So it may take a little time before we see any additional uses for GPL added to STO (Cryptic is being careful.)
Your concern was noted (I only mentioned EC in passing) but we're probably not looking at any major updates to GPL uses until after the EC/GPL rebalance has settled in (which is a responsible approach to game design.)Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence

Other than that, I can't find ANY use for GPL after getting the party nullifier.
Maybe take old Lobi gear that no one buys anymore and make it buyable via GPL?????

Neither is going to happen, because both would wreck the economy of the game. You can stop farming now.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
With the finite numbers of Admiralty slots, this will have about zero effect on the EC economy, unless those EC replacement values are massive, and I expect them to be the same 5,000 to 50,000 amounts that the Klingon campaign assignments already give for just the assignment at base, and then cut by 20%, so 4,000 to 40,000 after that adjustment. Being part of the assignment itself, rather than an event bonus, they will be subject to increase from criticals, but even that is only something like 20-25% more when you get the lucky critical on the assignment that had EC as part of its main reward.
Or maybe Use GPL to buy certain "Prize Boxes" that could contain random things a pheonix prize pack, mark boxes, dil ore boxes, dil ore claims, with really rare rewards being a lockbox key that is bound to character ( prevent it from being sold on exchange ) a weekend voucher, a stompek merit, etc etc...
Maybe even have a GPL weekend where you earn double GPL or bonus rewards for GPl boxes, etc...
People who accumulated 1-3+ Million Gold Pressed Latinum had been running Admiralty almost daily and likely has upwards of 40-70+ ships in their Admiralty Roster or more. I'm just a little disappointed designers didn't realize they needed to expand GPL rewards soon; even if it didn't make it in time for season 13.5 when Ferengi Admiralty launched. I know Cryptic has stated they are planning on expanding GPL reward's but first wanted to review how it's earned or is appropriately priced.
The last option we had was Club outfit's and a dance emote each selling for 250,000 GPL but that was like 2+ years ago; otherwise there's been very little expansion except sunglasses on Risa.
One big ticket option for a million bar's is a modern 2410 (25th) century faction interior:
I know they have talked in one live stream about expanding GPL options but as I was informed they were unable to make it available for season 13.5. So I do honestly hope they at least have something in the works.
In closing expand Dabo bets beyond 100 Energy Credit / GPL out to at least 1000.
Also it be nice for a few new accolades added for a million bar's accomplishment called in Quark's Dream's to represent the DS9 episode when Picard's girlfriend auction at item where Q bid a million bar's.
It's not a holoemitter. Holoemitters are consumable devices that completely swap your ship's model for another one. The vanity shield is a permanent shield for the vanity slot that gives your current ship model a Tzenkethi texture, like how reputation shields work.
This is not to say that I expect anything new in the GPL store anytime soon. Them saying that they'd like to do it is a far cry from actually allocating the hours to do it, especially if doing it is unlikely to bring them any profit.
LOL
Can't say I would expect them to ever add anything.
Yeah, surprisingly, I've actually played the game before. My point is that it is still a vanity item and completely worthless outside of looking pretty, and instead of putting the vanity shield in with the rest of the vanity items in the GPL store (eg: sunglasses, clubwear, holoemitters, subspace party amplifiers, etc.), they decided to make it have a chance of a chance of obtaining from a box you have to pay money to open.
The entire point of latinum was that it was to be used getting pretties and shinies. Latinum can't give you a combat boost (At least, not directly), it can't buy you a functionally different ship or character, and it certainly can't do anything legitimately worthwhile.
What's the point in keeping it separate from the rest of the ship cosmetics?
