    Sol isn't the center of the universe, our star is only one of billions and it has to go somewhere. :tongue:

    Plus Sol is actually in one of the outer spiral arms of the Milky Way Galaxy itself. We're closer to the 'Galactic Boundary' then to the Center of the Galaxy. ;)

    Just remember that you're standing
    On a planet that's evolving
    And revolving at 900 miles an hour,
    That's orbiting at 19 miles a second
    (So it's reckoned)
    A sun that is the source of all our power;
    The sun and you and me
    And all the stars that we can see
    Are moving at a million miles a day
    In an outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,
    Of a galaxy we call the Milky Way!

    Our galaxy itself contains a hundred million stars,
    It's a hundred thousand lightyears side to side,
    It bulges in the middle, 16,000 lightyears thick,
    But out by us it's just 3000 lightyears wide;
    We're 30,000 lightyears from galactic central point,
    We go 'round every 200,000 years,
    And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
    In this amazing and expanding universe!

    'Space is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space.'
    'But to be logical is not to be right', and 'nothing' on God's earth could ever 'make it' right!'

    'As l speak now, the words are forming in my head.
    l don't know.
    l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
    That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'

    I realized that I mistranscribed one number in there - it's supposed to be 200,000,000 years, not 200,000 - but the last time I tried to fix a typo my entire post vanished, so I think I'll just leave that flub up there.
