Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer (T6) or Fleet Morrigu (Mogai) (T6)?

Time to get my Rom Tac a new ship. I think I've got it down to these two.
I know I really liked the Tier 5 Adapted Destroyer, but it's turn rate kinda stinks. A turn console might help, but not sure I want to take up the console slot. However, I DO like the shrapnel torpedoes and the warp core 2 piece set.
I've never flown the Mogai except for the freebie while leveling up, but it looks decent, and has a better turn rate. Also a 5th tac console for that extra punch. However the ablative shield console is kinda useless to me, I'd rather have an offensively based console.
I've been saving up so the price (whether EC or Zen) is not a factor here.
What are your thoughts on comparing these two ships?

Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

While I am kinda biased towards the Morrigu (as I've never owned ANY variant of a Tal Shiar Adapted ship) the Morrigu is an ACCOUNT unlock, meaning any future Romulans you make will be able to fly it as well. Also as coldnapalm said, console's decent. I actually have the full Mogai set myself.

I love both my TSAD T5 and T6. I typically mount one fleet neutronium with turn rate consol and have never had a problem with it's agility. The T6 is my ship of choice for my main.

As was said, "The morrigu is awesome". I have all the mogai variants as well as all the Tal Shiar ships sans the new T6 flavor, and many others for that matter. Nevertheless I love the Morrigu best and fly it all the time... If it only had the Pilot ship turbo boost it would be godly methinks...

    Morrigu all the way.

Fantastic ship, solid console that pairs well with other consoles, desirable trait, and it's an account wide unlock. It really has no downside.

    Insert witty signature line here.

Never tested the TSAD T6, but the Morrigu is a ship you are going to love!, once i finished leveling it, i purchased the fleet version, its awesome!, quite durable and sturdy, with the set console and some corrosive plasma.. its deadly!

I have the old T5 Adapted BC and it was pretty good. But I'd have to say Morrigu also for all the above reasons.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

Well, based on the overwhelming support for it, I went with the Morrigu and it's fleet version. We'll see how it goes. I'm not going to stop spending money here and there, and the TSAD isn't going anywhere, so I'll look into that later if needed. Thanks everyone!

Morrigu cstore and then fleet is THE no-brainer buy for roms that aren't exclusivley sci or torp players.

Today the T5 adapted is 120m ec and T6 300m, some of those T5 ships have seen their prices just drop and drop, it might be a good idea to get the morrigu and monitor the prices of the Adapted. As an example the T5 Narcine can now be had for about 50m and used to cost five times that.

... and the Narcine is STILL a beast, and fun to fly .

I main a Rom Tac and I just don't get the love for the Morrigu? I have it, used it to get the trait then binned it to the Dry dock...

4/3 on a DHC build (which I use) is a waste compared to ships such as Pilot ships with its 5/2 layout = more forward guns = more damage

The morrigu you sacrifice a forward gun for a rear gun/turret, ok the console is very good but at the cost of a forward gun is a trade off I don't want to make.

I guess you could stick Beam Arrays on it and make it a Beam Escorty-type ship - seen some YouTube vids of those and they look awesome.

But I love my DHC's, and at 4/3 the Morrigu just doesn't cut the mustard for me. I'll stick to my 5/2 Pilot ships.

True. I love it for my Fed toon. Best of all I'm not a pet player. Nonetheless it is very fun...

Nothing wrong with 4/3 setups, especially not for DHC boats. Slap on that Hydrodynamics Compensator + the Heavy Bio-Molecular Disruptor Turret (for the acc and extra Disruptor dmg bonus), an extra Disruptor Omni/turret in aft as well, 4x of your DHC Disruptors in fore, and you'll have a fine ship. :)

Have you seen the two piece bonus on the mogai ship specific console set? Unless you are have some pretty expensive lockbox/lobi ship traits, that sucker is pretty damn beefy for DPS. And unless you are keeping both weapons and aux at 125 at all times without that set bonus, having that set bonus will trump you getting one extra DHC instead one one extra turret. Why aux? Because aux power config - offense. If you can't make use of this trait because you are nuking your aux power in your pilot escort to have high weapon power, the effects of this trait will once again negate anything you get from that one front weapon over the rear. And yes, with the two piece bonus and the star ship trait, my morrigu can indeed run around with 125 weapon and aux powers...well...most of the time with energy siphon or at all times if I slot withering barrage and supremecy. Now I could use energy siphon AND supremecy on the pilot escorts to do the same without the set bonus...but the morrigu with suprememcy can also use OSS to do even MORE damage. And that is why people love the morrigu.

Thanks for the clarification, I knew there was a reason behind the Morrigu love :-)

One Quick further question... How do you raise your Aux so high? Special consoles/warpcore set?

I'd throw the Jhu'ael on the table as well.

Compared to the Morrigu, you're trading a slight amount of durability and native 5-tac consoles(Jhu'ael requires a fleet version for its 5th) for a hangar, more agility, more science consoles, and potential access to Annihilation Mode(+wpn pwr and sing gen rate; ability to fire a sustained doom-beam) as well as native quad cannon set bonuses if you have it's lower tier cousins.

Otherwise, between the two; the Morrigu gets an ensign sci seat while the Jhu'ael get an ensign eng seat instead. The hybrid seat for both of them is, effectively, their Lt.Cmdr Science seat(Morrigu technically sports a universal, but slotting anything other than Science for it leaves you with only a single sci ability). Morrigu hybrids Intel; Jhu'ael hybrids Pilot.

Between them both, their startship masteries and set bonus are both quite excellent, but they go about their fatal purpose in slightly different ways. Morrigu is more about power efficiency; Jhu'ael is about using a bunch of weapon systems at the same time. I honestly couldn't tell you which would be more deady in burst or sustained engagements. Morrigu's OSS/IT and weapon drain reduction counts for a lot, but the Jhu'ael gets enough set damage boosts, is able to focus its fighter's damage, and is able to manipulate its singularity core to a greater extent that might very well put it within parity.

I suspect the Morrigu would be better at AoE, while the Jhu'ael would get the upper hand when cutting down bigger targets.
