Which Ship to open? (Infinity Prize Pack: T5 Ship)

ihatepwe735ihatepwe735 Member Posts: 337 Arc User
So I got this thing, and it contains a T5 ship, but I get to choose between:
* Ferengi D'Kora Ship
* Tholian Orb Weaver Ship
* Wells Temporal Science Vessel
* Voth Bastion Flight-Deck Cruiser
* Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort
* Undine Nicor Bio-Warship
* Xindi-Aquatic Narcine Dreadnought Carrier

On the exchange these ships sell from 40m to 50m EC with the Undine being the most pricey.

I like the Ferengi because of the built in Ferengi trader with DOFF missions. and its a cruiser, which suits my eng captain.

The Tholian is a sci ship and I've never liked space magic, but I might learn to like it if I can make those space-nets the tholians make.

The Wells Temporal Science vessel looks a lot like the science ship available for zen so its boring.

The Voth Bastion looks nice, flight deck cruiser to it appeals, but seems redundant with my Herals Quas Flight deck cruiser (and also has only 1 hangar).

The Hirogen Escort appeals for a more tac centric dps build. Looks suitably alien.

The Bio-Warship looks amazing, but I suspect its a very space magic ship. Seems to be the most desired on the Exchange.

Then the Xindi Carrier, has 2 flight decks. Looks gorgeous. Suits a engineer / dps build.

So, basically, too damn many choices. All the ships also come with unique universal consoles and, as always, my fear is as soon as I commit to one ship I'll have some kind of AHA moment and realize I really want/need the console from one of them for some neferious purpose.

Can anyone give my any clarity on which ship to choose?

    Looks like you have made your decision already, but when in doubt keep the box in your inventory, copy your character to tribble and test the ships there.

    The only ships which i have in my inventory is the Tholian Orb Weaver which is a nice little ship although a bit fragile.
    The console is gimmicky, somewhat useful at times but often not. Since you mention that you dislike science vessels the Orb weaver and (excellent) Wells are out of the picture.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Step 1: Transfer toon w/ box to Tribble.
    Step 2: On Tribble - open box, chose a ship.
    Step 3: Repeat till you've tried them all.

    How do I get onto tribble? Some guide said there would be a link on the launcher, but I can't find it.

    very sound advice sir and as to the choices the Wells is a very versatile science ship that can hang with the best even with all the new T6 ships, the Narcine has some of the best pets in my opinion available to it on top of some fun consoles to spam, i would only reccommend the Bastion if ya had either the Palisade or the Bulwark on that character otherwise it is a pass thanks to your Quas, the D'Kora is handy on top of what ya said it also functions like a mobile starbase having full access to mail, bank AND exchange on the go. No person wanting to make EC should leave home without a ferengi ship, the Nicor is more of a destroyer and is a bulky escort with heavy firepower, sadly i am not as knowledgeable in the other ships

    Choose whichever one will get you the most EC on the exchange.

    Just my opinion of course, but I would rather have the EC to use on whichever toon I want than to have a single ship on a single toon that I probably wouldn't use at all once the newness wears off..
    LTS and loving it.

    I'm really sold on the Ferengi here. There are many ships that can fight, that will, being T6, just be better than the ships in the box. But the Ferengi ship offers a number of unique features that are otherwise entirely unobtainable for zen.

    Like the event ferengi ship it is very useful, but for me the visuals rub me the wrong way.

    I had to make the same choice a week ago, and landed on the Narcine. Can't say I've regretted it.

    Since I already have several T6 ships, I just wanted to pick something that'd still be fun to build something interesting with, and the Narcine had the most potential for me.

    A few things to know about the Wells (that's the only one of the list I have):
    -its console can go on the mirror destroyer version, the timeship, the T6 Paradox and the T6 Annorax, and vice-versa, the console of those ships can go on it
    -it gives you a skin for those ships (except the Annorax) and vice-versa
    -each faction gets a different-looking ship when opening the box, including the Romulan (though said ship has no singularity core or cloak, merely a normal warp core)

    Choose the Narcine. Don't open it, though. Just hang onto it and stick it in your bank for a few months.

    You have a habit of answering questions somewhat obtusely. Care to expand on what additional value it would have after being in my bank for a few months?

    I venture a guess in that the price on the exchange for the narcine is ever increasing due to it becoming ever more rare.
    Thus a wait would wield you a better price on the exchange, potentially allowing you to purchase a Tier 6 ship of your choice from the exchange.
