That one does have a bit of PVP at the end, for those who want to dip their toes in. If you want to avoid any and all PVP forever, then yes, that's the one to skip.
Any chance of a balance pass for the Modulating Competition Mine which is doing noticeable less damage then basic mines making it rather useless?
Quantum Mine base damage = 8056 damage x4 mines dropped = 32,224 or with beta3 that’s x14 = 112,784
Competition Mine base damage = 5639 damage x4 = 22,556 or with beta 3 that’s x14= 78,946
Average damage so far for me per mine
Quantum Mine = 4,747
Competition Mine = 3,606
Both the Modulating Competition Mine and Tethered quantum mine need a balance pass. The Tethered mine drops half as many mines as normal so even with the extra hits you do around about half the damage output and the Modulating Competition Mine should have the same base damage as other quantum mines.
The main point to quantum mines is to do damage so why use a Modulating Competition Mine when it lowers damage over basic quantum mines?
I was informed that Binary Assault also has PvP at the end.
If a player intentionally gets assimilated, then they can attack the other players. Looks like Twin Tribulations is the only remaining option.

That's not really PvP. The player turns into a NPC and the AI attacks the players just like any other NPC. The Player has no control as they are dead waiting for the timer.
Try Binary Assault. No PVP, just a race to complete the Mission before the other Team.

I haven't tried Binary Assault yet.
But as I found Twin Tribulations boring, I may try it tomorrow and see if it provides a better alternative.
I am starting to wonder about the queue numbers though.
While I was waiting for the queue to launch, I watched the population numbers of the queues.
Binary Assault had the least amount of players.
Core Assault was in the middle.
Twin Tribulations was the highest.
But even being highest wasn't enough to launch the queue.
Sometimes I do wonder if players aren't flexible enough to move to another queue if the one they want isn't launching.
For example, if the Core Assault players had moved to the Twin Tribulations queue, we could have all gone and gotten our daily prize.
But they just stayed in a queue that wasn't launching.
Or is it just that this Reputation isn't very popular, regardless of whichever queue it is, so there just aren't enough players interested in playing it?

A non PvP method of earning the marks will cause the few people who are actually bothering with this Rep to bail on the competitive ques.
This will deprive the PvPr's of their easy kills making them have to play against other PvPr's, which is how it should be instead of forcing PvEr's to PvP.
I'm unsure how they can fix this as I'm unsure why they did it in the first place.

Ah, so I'm just picking the wrong difficulty then?
I'm going for Advanced just to pick up the Assessed Stratagem token.
Not sure Elite is a good idea, it might make the task unreasonably harder.
Aren't Binary Assault and Twin Tribulations both counted as non-PvP methods of earning the marks?
I'm uncertain if there are other queues to earn the Competitive Marks from, like a Choice of Marks queue awarding them.
In any case, as I've said before, the Assessed Stratagem token only comes from the Competitive Advanced queues, so there's not much point doing another queue, because without the tokens, no Rep gear can be requisitioned.
I actually prefer ground based battles to space battles.
But I always put that down to the fact that all of my prior mmos only had ground based combat.
STO was the first one I played where spaceship based gameplay is incorporated.

I am wondering if these queues are populated by the obsessive winner players.
And yesterday, someone was making an impolite statement because the button wasn't being pushed.
Truthfully, I don't care about winning or losing here, I get my prizes either way.
The show was never about the ships anyway.
Yes, you got some fancy space battles, but they weren't the focus.
Pick any episode at random, it's either all inside the ship/space station or an away mission. Because that's where the acting cast is.
I don't think there has ever been an episode where the action takes place completely in space and we never see the ground segments.
A metaphor, it's like making a show about the car or bus that is taken to work, but not showing what happens during the workday.
Can you imagine watching an entire episode of the Enterprise or Voyager just orbiting a planet all episode and not seeing what is happening inside?

If they ever are smart enough to make a show that's basically just ships in space that show will never go off the air. The reason we got all the ground Trek is because of lack of funding for special effects.
A metaphor, you have a show about birds and all they show is the birds walking around on the beach no flight that would be a pretty boring show and not what people were tuning in for.
Pssst. You don't have to play PVP to get these marks. You can play Binary Circuit and Twin Tribulations and never fight another player.
You know, having one of STO's staff communicate with me is a rare and special occasion. So I think I'll give those two a try despite the competitive aspect. There's no harm in trying it out, get enough marks to get the reputation to T1. See how it goes. Thank you for encouraging me to at least try it out.
You're not getting Strategums from these other Queues, so leveling up this Reputation will unlock the Active and Passives but you won't be able to buy much in the way of equipment.

[STO-PC] The Competitive Wargames Reputation - Ambassador Kael
This Rep line has turned out to be a big, fat, dud for me. Maybe it's the way the three missions are designed, or, maybe it's the atrocious new Queue menu, but launching these missions is "Hit or Miss" outside of peak population periods. Then there's the whole PvP "Lite" thing going on (with a couple of the published missions)...so passive-aggressive in the way it still leads baby seals to the slaughter...:) Meh.
I have started working on the Reputation with one character, just to see the ground costume options and to unlock sponsorship should I decide to do this Reputation again for any of my other characters.
I started looking at the consumables and thought, finally, some interesting devices.
Then it was explained that these devices only work on Competitive maps, making them pointless for regular gameplay. From useful to useless in 10 seconds.
You're not getting Strategums from these other Queues, so leveling up this Reputation will unlock the Active and Passives but you won't be able to buy much in the way of equipment.
Is there any actual must-have equipment in this reputation?
I have quite a few of the stratagems already and was curious.

Sorry, but the person wanted NO, NONE, NOT AT ALL PvP.
So to be precise, ALL competitive wargames ques released REQUIRE PvP.

Ground Trek is ground based.
I'm sure if the show or this game was named Ground Trek few would bother.
People tuned in for the Space, every other TV show has ground.

Only reason I am doing it is to get the costume unlocks though.
I don't really plan to use it in gameplay.
But if space gear is what is desired, the secondary deflectors might be of use.
