Lobi Ships and Ship questions

Someone said the Lobi ships are what you want to get if you can. Would those be more powerful then the T6 Fleet ships? (I have the Astika BC, Elach Ornash BC (Won the contests for them) and the Jem Hadar Carrier T6). Are the Lobi store ships more powerful then a t6 fleet ship?
Also another thing I don't get is why there is a T5 and a T5-Upgraded status. Why buy one when you can use the T6 at the same level (Or am I wrong, which I could be)? Is it just another cash grab to get you some console or trait or something? I have the Nih (whatever it's called) Destroyer also but I have never used it as I have the higher T6 lobi ships. Would there be any benefit to leveling though that ship? Would there be any benefit to upgrading that ship?

Thanks for the help all. It is starting to kinda make sense to me. I still find some of this very confusing and poorly explained (By the game, not you guys). I also think that personally ship unlocks like the Jem hadar or the Astika BC I have should be account wide, not character wide. Sucks you can only use them with one character when they are so very expensive to get.

The point of T5-U was to not TRIBBLE off people who had bought t5 ships prior to Delta Rising (before the console server came out).

Lobi ships are not necessarily more powerful than T6 / T6 Fleet ships. However, they will have consoles and ship traits that cannot be gained any other way. They are also difficult to get which also makes time desirable, because players cannot simply buy them from the C-Store. Lobi ships are bound to character; only the character that opens the ship box will get the ship. Also, if you accidentally dismiss the ship, then it is gone forever.

Prior to the release of Delta Rising expansion back in Sept 2014 the max level was 50 and T5 ships were the top tier ships. Delta Rising increased the max level to 60 and introduced T6 ships. At the same time ship upgrade tokens were sold in the C-Store which allowed players to upgrade a C-Store purchased T5 ship to be almost equal to a T6 ship. The basic difference is a T5u ship does not have a ship trait. It gave players the option to upgrade a T5 ship to T5u for 700 Zen rather than spending 3,000 Zen for a T6 ship. The introduction of the T6 ship pissed off a lot of players because their T5 ships were no longer "top dog". I am sure people will be pissed off again when Cryptic decides to release T7 ships.

Lobi / lock box / R&D promo ships and T6 fleet ships will all have 11 console slots and will have similar stats. Some of the lobi/box ships are a little better -- like 1 extra beam array on the Paradox compared to the fleet T6 science ships.

But you don't need that. Even a non-fleet T6 ship is fine for all of the content in the game. Instead of worrying about the last bit of DPS I pick ships that I want to fly, often paired with a captain who fits some theme. Fly the ships that you want to, not the ones that people tell you that you're "supposed to" fly.

Weapon energy type is the same way. Antiproton or disruptor in pre-made teams using interlocking stacked buffs might generate the top DPS, but for just playing the game you can use any energy type. Use phasers on a fed ship if you want, you can still complete any content.

Heck, playing on normal difficulty and using a T5/T5-U ship will still get you past most all the content in the game. Some have even claimed they can play advanced level and use the lower-tiered ships.

Me, I still use T5/T5U ships on occasion and have no problems whatsoever. Course, you won't entice me off normal difficulty either, I just play to have fun, not see how difficult I can make it on myself.

    But that's just me.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

Heck, I like doing new missions in my T1 NX. It's more about the equipment and abilities than the ship itself.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Echatty, here here to that. I have the most fun commanding T-1 to T-4 ships at level (60).

The best ships in the game currently are Z-Store ships. If you get the three pack of 31st century ships not only can you use them for your current character but any character in any faction you make. There's a science ship, engineer dreadnought, and a tactical raider ship all at fleet T6 level. They may not be perfect but it's the best bang for your buck especially if you are trying different character professions/factions outside of your main.

That Ouroboros Temporal Raider, OMG, with the right skills/consoles is a dream come true. Im loving it and I got 10+ lock box ships. Its one I keep going back to. Wipes the Tzenkethi out.
    Positive thoughts.

I also wanted to say there are numerous Lobi items that pack more bang for your buck, certain weapons or consoles, or if your so inclined a ground weapon, can buy you a better edge then a ship. My tier 5 Jim dread is still a great ship but it's been mothballed for over a year. I still use other lobi equipment ground and space consoles. And the cost per unit is more reasonable, at least to me.

I 100% agree, far better consoles then ship.
    Just to name a few
Bioneural Infusion Circuits, Tachyokinetic Converter and the Interphase Quantum Distributor
The only space weapons I would get are the Delphic Antiproton Beam Bank and Chroniton Dual Beam Array

Good ground weapons and armor as well.
    Positive thoughts.
