Elachi ship design: a question

What is it about the Elachi ship designs that scream out a similarity to the Replicators from the Star Gate series? I can't put my finger on it and it's bugging me.

    The hexagonal patterns. Every replicator structure has that same type of building design. If it was gray it'd be almost identical.
