I think those were more robots than androids though. they didn't seem to actually think.
Finnegan seemed to think. At least, he was able to catch Kirk by surprise. More than once.
Although they seemed more like drones than autonomous robots OR androids. It seemed to me that they were controlled by the central computer (which was what was doing the monitoring to grant the "wishes" in the first place).
Again, a case could be made for substantial differences in sophistication between models of "Shore Leave" creations. I'd bet that McCoy's two friends from the end of the episode (and Ruth) were a lot more "fully functional" than, say, the Black Knight.
Oh, and just another note on our K-13 androids: I bought Andrea, and Dr. Brown was immediately rendered unavailable. It seems like you can have one or the other, but not both. Caveat emptor.

Given her age, a little COBOL will fix that in no time!
Side note: Does she run Linux? Cause I could totally use GnuCOBOL on her then. If she runs BSD however I'm totally going to get her horns, a tail, and a pitch fork weapon.
What about Solaris? ...
Oh dear god! People thought the licensing issues with CBS and getting a Constitution class end game ship was bad! Wait till they have to start paying for another boat for Larry with the per polygon licensing fees for that!
Just want to take a moment to say i adored Andrea and was absolutely smitten with her. Gorgeous actress with a super cute face, gorgeous body, sexy outfit that complements her assets. Left so much of an impression on me I can tell you the actress' name is Sharon on the top of my head.
That's actually good news about the Android outfits. With any luck BOFFs will be able to wear them, and I can dress my Veteran Android BOFF in it and model it after Brown. That way I can have Andrea and Brown.

Looks like you'll get your wish. My Fleet just unlocked the K-13 tailor and the androids' outfits are one of the two outfits available to buy.
still not worth the hell of joining a fleet
While I'm not sure I'll ever understand where the concept of "the hell of joining a fleet," there's enough people out there who seem to share that opinion, I guess there might be something to it. Ah well.
If you change your mind, if you ever have been in a fleet long enough to get some Fleet Credits, all you need is an invite to a properly leveled K-13 map, as the costumes require Dil and FC's only, no provisions. If you haven't got the FC's, you do need to join a fleet long enough to dump something into a project, Fleet Marks have a good return, and are easily picked up in STF's. My fleet always has a FM dump project open. So if you change your mind, send me a message ingame. I can get you set up very easily. Once you have your uniform, you are free to leave, no strings attached. Just one endgame Space Barbie enthusiast helping out another.

It depends on the fleet, really. There are some which are incredibly decent and give store access very quickly (Fedside, Omega Armada is a great one) while demanding very little of members. There are others which demand massive contributions before even thinking about access and demand undying loyalty from members. It's a "simple" matter of avoiding the latter.

Before I bother someone with an invite, how much Dilithium are we talking about?
Hmm... Not actually ingame right now (which will also make invites difficult ) or I'd check, but the number that is floating to the top of my memory is 8000. That could easily be wrong, and influenced by fleet mine dil discounts.

Defiantly want the android. Disappointed about not being able to change the uniform. They might change it later. But then again, I can't even get the powers that be to notice that we can't use the temporal armor visuals on our boffs either.
There are still several weird AOY bugs that have crept in. Balok's puppet on K-13 for example used to talk, exact sound bites from the TOS episode. Now he just pops up text bubbles. Underwhelming, I haven't reported it as a bug because I'm not sure it is one.
Although I liked Data's character a lot, I always disliked how supposedly he was the only Android when there were what, two episodes with them on TOS? Including a whole planet full of them.
(Not as bad as giving Romulans funny foreheads, when their whole point is that they looked identical to Vulcans and are somehow related to them, but if Vulcans don't have those, then Romulans can't, you just don't evolve stupid foreheads in a few thousand years)
That's ok, the sentient Horta who crew a federation ship never show up again either. The pain... the horta is a remarkably intelligent and sensitive creature... with impeccable taste.
Here's a question...if you put on a Solinae EV suit on her, does it show the suit FX, or is she like the MACO holo that doesn't change with an EV suit?
(Even for a 70's style outfit, that one is just plane ugly.)
they forgot her harlequin hat and stuff.
now, where have I seen this nearly exact same outfit before? hmm..
1. It's 60's, not 70's.
2. Aside from the two different colors on each side, I see no connection with a harlequin outfit.
3. "Ugly" is highly subjective, personally I think it looks good, but even if I agreed, I'd call it plain ugly as it has nothing to do with ugly flying machines.

right. typo. If you read my posts, you'll see that sort of thing quite often. Fingers and brain in disagreement.
thank you for the lit corrections. and I just put the wrong date.
in any case. That IS a basic and very classic style of harlequin outfit they have on her. I was trying to recall exactly where I've seen it before. Probably in an old Nutcracker style illustrative work.
And here's a shot of the original actress for comparison.
missed this pic post. doesn't look the same, though. Actual, looks like an outfit. STO version looks harlequin. At least to me.
I definitely like the blue and black better than the green and blue.
Actually, in the original episode the outfit IS blue and green. It's just a darker green than STO's version. Not sure why that pic has it looking almost black.

Same reason command green went gold in TOS... weird lighting colors. Or more precisely the weird lighting colors interacting with different fabrics and dyes
