Constitution Refit

OK, i have been with this game from before it was beta, had pe-order the collector edition and everything, I am a life subscriber and I have logged thousands of hours into this game. It is one of my favorite games and i am a lifelong trekker. I have one request that i would love to see at some point. I have seen what you guys have done with the redone models and textures for the ships, particularly the Galaxy class, as well as new models like the JJprise and Vengeance which are absolutely beautiful looking. So i ask, Please redo the model for the Constitution refit, comparative it is way under par for what has been released in this game. Not only that, at some point please release a tier 6 version of the Constitution refit, I know you guys have done this for the original and many other ships, so it has nothing to do with the fact that it is an old ship, since there are tier six ships which are chronologically older. It has been my favorite star trek ships from when i was a child and i would love to not only see the model and textures redone to represent what a phenomenal ship she is and how beautiful she can be, but i would like to play her in endgame as well. I am very sure that i am not the only one who thinks or feels this way. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please keep up the good work.

I totally agree with you. I think with the TOS expansion and Kelvin lockboxes, it shows they'll make a T6 out of anything, potentially. I think you'll get your wish within the next 12 months.

Is the Promo T6 TOS Constitution not able to use the refit constitution visuals? Either way, an updated refit visual would be nice. Then I might actually be inclined to acquire a promo Constitution.

The T6 Temporal Light Cruiser (ie the T6 Connie) can use the TOS Constitution skin, the Constitution Refit (or TMP Era, or T2 Cruiser) skin, the Exeter Skin, the Vesper Skin and the Excalibur skin. If you have this rare, but fun ship, you can skin it to look like pretty much whatever version of that type of ship that you like best. It's one of the cool aspects of it.

They may be able to do that with the T6 Temporal light cruiser, but regardless, they need to update the Constitution Refit, I know they can, and I think it would look spectacular. It is def something I would love to see and mess around with.

I'd have thought it obvious by now that this WILL happen. At the end of the day guys, there is a selection of other skins you can use, but don't try to beat the Dev's (repeatedly) over the head with this request, which seems to appear every week at the moment! And OP, claiming that you were pre-data, with game 6 years, spent $1000's etc, etc, doesn't make your request any more important than those that have played 1 day!

I was merely answering the question asked prior by another poster about that particular ship. In regards to your suggestion I support that, and agree with a lot of other posters who feel this is something that is likely to happen.

wasn't saying my request was more important then anyone else. Just threw that in to point out that i have seen this game change quite a bit and i like what they have been doing. Plus this question about updating was asked a couple of years ago and the devs said they were not going to update the constitution or any of the older ships, nor come out with higher tier versions of these ships. That being said, obviously somewhere down the line that all changed, so i was just putting in my thoughts and a request for what i would like to see.

The reason that those models are updated is that Thomas Marrone and JamJamz are updating them in their free time!, they are doing this kinda for us, as their are only asked to create the T6 versions, they go, "what the hell, i'll redo the old one also for the fans!", you know they are fans like us, dont you?

If they redo the Refit Connie model, I would expect two versions.

1. Canon accurate refit model without Phaser strips designated Alpha
2. Beta version with Phaser strips like we have now

They've shown they can have more than one variant of the same model. Good examples are the Galaxy nacelles and Steamrunner impulse engines.

Certainly have them to thank for all the wonderful work so far, cant wait to see what else they do. Especually love the rework of both the Galaxy and the Sovereign!

Oh, hell yes. The good old Connie-refit from TMP is one of those iconic designs that has withstood the test of time. Not bad for a ship that was designed in the '70s (around 1977, I think, for the "Phase 2" series that was canceled, and then they used it for TMP in '79). I think if it came out even now, it wouldn't look too dated (unlike the TOS Connie). I'd love for the model of it to get a freshening with more canon accuracy and attention to detail like other ships have gotten, e.g. the Akira, Prometheus, Sovereign, etc.

Plenty of old ships left that could do with a facelift. This one should have gotten one when the T6 temporal promo happened.

However, much like the iconic KDF K't'inga in the same promo, they skimmed over that.. If they can't be asked to put effort into making a $$$ grade premium item up to par, then I can't be asked to try to my luck, simple as that.

The Constitution refit was the first Star Trek ship I fell in love with.

I would absolutely love it if this model got updated and would use that skin without hesitation on my T6 TOS connie !

People are paying hundreds of dollars worth of resources for this ship and it's practically a launch model. We're not getting any of the movie bridges either.

They should do another promo with wiz kids for a command connie and use that as the excuse to fix it up and the K't'inga too.

TMP Connie doesn't have neck emitters. The phaser emitters are on the primary (saucer) hull at the 12, 3, and 9 o'clock positions top and bottom, as well as one on the belly of the secondary (engineering) hull to the rear of the main sensor / deflector dish and another aft on the same hull right above the shuttlebay. She fires photon torpedoes from a launcher assembly at the base of the neck right above the dish, and in the A configuration she also has a single rear firing photon torpedo tube that exits between the warp nacelles at the top of the engineering hull.

Really? Shows how much attention I've paid to the TOS films. Though II and VI are the only ones I actually like.

However I've just done some Youtubeing and I don't really see the point. The coverage the emitters offer is fine adding strips would be pointless as they'd only cover the same points as the emitters and it's not like the emitters are the one part of the ship that would need upgrading to make it viable as a T6 as that's what the Exeter skin is for.​​

The T6 Temporal Promo was part of the Agents of Yesterday bonanza, which did include a very detailed refurb of the TOS Constitution model.

If an update to the TMP era model happens, it will hopefully happen at a time when they're doing even more Movie Era type stuff (like releasing the above mentioned and oft requested bridge from the movies) and a few other things.

^^^ Definitely something I'd like to see happen. The TMP Connie model has never been updated since launch, and it looks comically bad compared to pretty much any ship you'd park it next to. Even the Exeter model is old-ish and nowhere near the amazingly high bar the current ship modeling team has established.

The suggested canon TMP saucer would use the same beam hardpoints as the TOS Connie saucer. As that is already in game, very little recoding for the hardpoints. I think that would just be adding a line to say (use these hardpoints for this model). Different models have different hardpoints due to shape. While they generally line up with each other, they are shifted a bit. For example the Excalibur beam hardpoints may not exactly line up with the current Connie Refit beam hardpoints. Another example would be the Andromeda's beam hardpoints not lining up with the Galaxy beam hardpoints.

Hey, I (and many others) waited 6 years for a T6 Connie, so there are plenty of people who have felt your pain
