Can someone here help me figure out this problem?

So I posted this in the Bug report forums, but they don't give you a response there, and I was hoping it might be something simple a player here could help me with:

I just came back to STO after several months. My right mouse button in rpg mode fires the primary attack instead of the secondary attack for my ground weapons. Therefore both the left and right mouse buttons are doing the same thing. In first shooter mode the right and left mouse buttons do not fire at all but instead trigger abilities on my tray. I tried resetting all my keybinds (space, ground rpg, ground shooter) with no luck. The Xbox controller was checked off under Options in game, and I use a Microsoft mouse, so I reset that. I also reset my mouse under control panel on my pc with no luck.

Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions you might have. I noticed you can't adjust the keybinds for ground shooting under options in game, so I might be stuck.

Dunno how much help this'll be but under Options>Keybinds there's 'Aim Mode', that can be changed to 'Right Click'.

Also I can't remember properly but I think the 1st box in your ground tray must be the basic shoot icon (so 'Bolt Setting' for pistol and 'Bolt Burst' for auto rifle), instead of a buff etc.

EDIT: Also Shooter Mode under Options>Keybinds further down the list under 'Skills' (blue text) is 'Shooter Primary' which can be set to 'Left Press'

Thanks I'll give that A try, I'm verifying all my files on the patch login screen right now, maybe that will do it.

You have to make sure that primary attack is set to 1 on your tray and secondary attack is set to 2 on your tray.

Sometimes if you get your tray powers remapped, it screws up your mouse buttons. Your left mouse just does whatever is in 1 and your right button does whatever is in 2. Instead of checking your mouse settings, have a look at your tray and see if everything looks right there.

I had the same thing happen to me once when the game just decided to randomly reset my tray #1. It was pretty confusing until I figured out what was going on.

This isn't a game bug. This is a "your rig" bug.

I don't think it is, the things that Seaofsorrows and myself mentioned should sort the problem.

Yeah, I had to slot my primary and secondary weapon fire into the right slots on my hotkey tray and then assign my left and right mouse buttons to them under options. Essentially I just did what you recommended above. Thanks!
