I would love a vanity ship skin slot. So if you own the ship you can use it's skin to change the visual outer look while keeping the stats of the ship you are actually in.
The main reason I don't buy most ships from the C-store is because i know they dont have a bridge layout that i would use but I would get them for their looks in a heart beat if i could slap them over a different ship's skeleton.
Im pretty sure this is doable because i remember when we could get holographic devices that made our ship look like a different one. Just put a holographic version in as an inventory item that comes with any ship you own and csn be placed in the vanity skin slot.

Yeah? Well, in that case, yeah, that's a really terrible idea. Ships in this game are already incredibly customizable in how they can be flown, along with probably around 90% of every player ship skin available in a T5-U or T6. Making a Galaxy Class zip around and shoot cannons like an escort would be the dumbest thing since Greedo shooting first.
BUT in the event I had it right the first time... just check the sto wiki, OP. It's honestly hard to find a ship skin that can't be used on at least one end-game level ship. As far as I can tell, you're only SOL if you want to use like... a Miranda. And there's also some strangely arbitrary restrictions on some prefixes (at the end game, it seems completely random if Romulan ships can pick the IRW prefix, for example).
This I wouldn't mind. I like the LOOK of the Ent C for example, but it's overall.......meh stats. And no T6 or even a T5U equiv?
The fleet version can be T5U'd.
Well, yes. But that's BUYING a Fleet version, then buying upgrade token. And it's not THAT pretty of a ship.....lol
