Anyone else getting random freezes on map transfers for the last week?

It usually happens at 40 or so percent, there's no SNR, no signs of increased CPU or memory usage, and it looks like the app just freezes.

I'm not reporting it as a bug since it's most probably some Wine-related thing or something funny with my PC, but if it isn't and other people see it...

    Known bug.
    Discussed.
Attempted Fixes listed on Patch Updates.
    Sometimes works.
    Windows 10 keeps crashing, however.
    They know this.
    Looking for Bug.
Got lost around the coffee machine.
"Loading Screen Crash" bug still multiplying.

    go figure.

Also affects Windows 7 and Windows 8.
consoles don't seem to be affected as no complaints as yet.

Hmm... Is it the one where turning reduced file streaming on sometimes helps? If so, then I figured why I'm only getting it now. Had been experimenting with DX11, had to re-launch in safe mode, the option was set back to off. Thought they fixed that one ages ago...

no. that's not a bug. that's just the option reset that happens after every update. the bug actively crashes a game during the loading screen. known issue.

I meant that the workaround for that bug was to turn on the option.
And the readon I only noticed it now was because it was reset.

the confusion here is that there are two known issues.
    1. Is the Option Reset on Arc. you have to shut it off after every update, as you've mentioned.
    2. Is an actual corruption or game 'Bug', that causes the game to crash, most often with Win7/8/and 10.

I was addressing the bug originally, which is the second issue above.
Using the workaround you've listed addresses the problem with Arc, not the bug.
2 separate issues, with similar affects - the game crashes on loading screen.

    Both are known issues.

I was getting a lot of freezing or crashing to desktop sometimes on map transfers sometimes at other random times, after trying many tweaks to settings without success I finally traced the root of the problem to the installation of the latest version of the graphics driver where a slightly older driver was more stable for my machine, after installing the older driver I have not had any problems.

      Acer Aspire 5742Z running windows 10 64bit.

I only started having the problem with the lighting 2.0 update.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

I don't have crashes, but lots of long waits (they took away the "Server Not Responding" message, but it's still the same thing). Sometimes I can go make a sandwich or something while it tries to load the next map.

      They need new hamsters.

I had the same problem randomly but also rarely for a while, then it got to a point where I had SNRs all the time. I switched to the U.S. Proxy and haven't had a problem since then.

the lighting 2.0 system is the cause of some of the crash issues, as well. If you're doing it a lot and can get in to the character selection screen, open the in-game options and try to turn off the 2.0 system. Of course, there is a change the game may crash when you try to open the options with 2.0 on. Random crashes ever since the 2.0 updates and on going TRIBBLE-ups....
