There is not, and should never be, any practical limit to how much space wealth a player can have.

Instead of being bitter and envious of the space rich, we should celebrate their accomplishments.

consider it an incentive for them to play other games or go get a life outside the mmo

Currency limits also help prevent individuals from having too much control over the economy

No currency limit can stop someone who understands the economy better than you from getting more out of it than you.

There is no limit to space wealth in sto.

The 'currency limits' dont have any beneficial effect are are just quality of life nuisances.

To make it clear, they dont make prices lower, and they don't limit the control an individual can have on the economy. They have no beneficial effects for anyone, even for cryptic, because cryptic doesn't monetize them very well at all, save for the kiddie pool 10m cap thing.

They eke out a bit from selling character slots, but the added utility of raising the per-toon or account bank cap would make it more desirable and more lucrative than toon slots for people who just want more storage.

The biggest pure time-waster nuisance of all is the 500m cap on the account bank. People would line up to pay zen to increase that to a billion.

I'm not saying an increase would be bad, however if there was no limit and never was a limit then some random Joe who's been around since launch playing non-stop could potentially have enough credits to buy every single thing off of the exchange and repost it all at a 100% markup, and there wouldn't be anything anyone could do about it.

So other than the EC issue
    - which, forgive me Druk, I wouldn't touch with a pole as it could be volatile -
what else, if removed would improve the game?

    -Ship Interiors(other then the bridge)
    -Defera Borg Battlezone
-All the old pre LoR/DR patrols

All of them are such old content, and either so broken, useless, or otherwise just poor, that removing them would make the overall quality of the game go up.

I don't know. I agree that they are all in need of a MAJOR revamp, but outright removal is a bit much.

The Defera Invasion has always been the most boring of the battlezones to me. I've literally fallen asleep grinding there once. If they spruced it up somehow, inject new life into it, it could be fun again. Don't ask me HOW to spruce it up, because I have no clue. All I know is that it needs work.

I kind of like the patrols overall. They provide a bit of a welcome diversion from "run to do this mission" and "run to the next RedAlert/DSE/Battlezone/PVE encounter." Like the Defera Invasion, though, some of the patrols need some work.

The Ship Interiors are an area where I have some ideas. Instead of "Every ship interior is exactly the same with just the complexity of the corridors being different," they should opt for a more customized and customizable interior setup. It ruins my suspension of disbelief when I'm in a Pilot Escort or a Miranda, and the size of the Crew Lounge, Captain's Quarters, and Engineering put together can hold the entirety of my ship with room to walk around.

Also, if you have a BOFF that's not slotted into a Bridge Crew seat, you should at least encounter them elsewhere on the ship.

Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.

    Things I want in STO:

    1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
    2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
    3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
    4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
    5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
    6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
    7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
    8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

    Please.

    Kurland hears.

Good, you learned about supply. Now go learn about demand. :) In fact, repetitiveepic specifically just explained this very scenario, and why it (obviously) is not that simple.

This tactic of dropping names to "prove" you have some superior insight into a game really needs to go away. Nobody cares how much history of drama gossip you can recite.

So, mentioning someone is drama now?!

And sorry to burst your bubble, but the laws of 'supply & demand' require no "superior insight": just a modicum of common sense to realize you can't just buy something up and re-list it for any price you want. Not unless you want to actually sell something. :) Fluctuations around promos notwithstanding, I say Exchange prices mostly tend to reflect the actual worth of the items (give or take a few thousand EC).

It was either GECKO, or Tacofangs, or both, who said in the past that Defera is broken because it's basically incomplete. There was supposed to be another map to it, and tons of other stuff, that simply never got done. The problem with fixing is that the cost to fix it would be so high at this point that it would be akin to just making a whole new battlezone... which they couldn't really justify spending unless they went back and did another big Borg centered storyline. Now, they could bring back the Borg in the future, but, IMO, that time has LONG since passed, and even Cryptic seems pretty content with the Borg being dead at this point, and we have moved onto far greater foes as well. This makes the prospect of it getting fixed pretty slim.

Perhaps they could rework the borg episode again to include more of the Undine missions or even have a mission where the Borg invade Defera?

When it comes to the old patrols, they existed as filler content to get EXP in case the leveling missions didn't get you to the point needed for the next mission to unlock, which was common in the earlier days of the game. The problem is that, now, with all the new missions added, and Cryptic going back and lowering all the mission level requirements, this basically never happens anymore. You can start from level 1, and get to the end of the Iconian War arc, with basically zero issue. These old patrols no longer serve a purpose, quest givers have not given out the wrapper missions for them since forever, and, generally, a lot of new players have NO IDEA THEY EXIST, because the game never really mentions them to you. On top of this, they have the same pre-revamp "quality" of consisting of nothing more then "beam down and scan 5 things" or "defeat 5 patrols in X system", aka, they suck. It would be cool if Cryptic could go back and redo ALL the patrol missions, make them on the level of the LoR or DR patrols, and make them available to ALL FACTIONS, to boost the amount of repeatable content in the game. But that is a lot of work for not a lot of reward.

That is very true. I agree the old missions fill in just like that. If they could revamp them to give various marks and make them replayable, or even give them a storyline, it would be very cool to see.

Ships interiors are just screwed because there really is no way to give every normal faction ship an appropriately sized interior. Not to mention the crazy interiors that would be needed for those cross faction alien ships. Even if they did, that still wouldn't solve the problem of them being basically pointless. What exactly is there to do in a ship interior that actually furthers the overall gameplay that couldn't similarly be achieved by doing what they do now, and having ship interiors be made for individual missions?

You make a good point, though it would be interesting to see a small revamp of the Federation and Klingon ship interiors as well as add one or two different options to the Romulan ships.
Some ships that would be interesting to have some modifications to would be
NX class: Make it look like the series (I know that it isn't the most practical to do, but it is worth dreaming on)
    Delta Flyer: Same as above.
Kar'fi: Give the inside a more demonic feel.
Romulan Scimatars: Give inside similar to the Lleiset.

If anyone can think of any others I am curious to hear their thoughts.

If I could remove one thing from the game, it would be the hatred of F2Pers that some LTS players seem to have. Believe it or not, most of us aren't that bad.

Yeah, we didn't pay for the game. Yeah, we can get all the same stuff you can. Oh wait, we can't. We can't get the LTS destroyers (or their T6 variants). We don't get 500 zen every month. We don't get access to The Captain's Table (even though if what I've seen on the forums is the norm there, then tbh I don't want it).

Geez guys. Tbh the combined money spent by F2P players is probably more than the total of the LTS players. I'm not saying this as 100% fact, but it's likely. So please. Enough of the hating on us.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

I don't hate the F2P players, I just hate that F2P is a thing at all, here or in any other MMO. Infact the only thing I may resent game developers for more is the fact that RPGs like Final Fantasy have completely abandoned turn based gameplay in favor of mindless button-mashing "action RPG" gameplay.

Of course, both of these topics have a "change is bad" vibe to them, so maybe I'm just getting old, idk.

That feels like a bit of a false dichotomy to me, as LTS and F2Pers aren't necessarily opposed. Which is to say, LTSers aren't guaranteed to spend RL money on the game (apart from their one-time sub), and F2Pers aren't guaranteed to not spend RL money on the game. The latter could well spend lotsa monies on lockbox ship and what have you, and yet be entirely comfortable within the limitations of F2P.

Which is why I've never actally witnessed LTSers hating on F2Pers. Not that I recall, at least. I've ere seen the opposite, if it weren't for the fact that LTSers and F2Pers aren't opposed per se; so, I should say, I have ere seen ppl hate on whales spending a lot of money on the game (as if they're cheating somehow), rather than the other thing.

Have to say I would remove Pilot ships and their features from the game and implement it into a shuttle/small craft game. In conjunction the flanking mechanism can also leave and be used in the shuttle game. The pilot system and flanking are two things that make hardly any sense in the space game.

You're kidding, right?! Flanking is wickedly awesome! (Together with Intel spec tree); and it does wonders for my Raiders too. If anything, we should remove shuttles from the game! :P I mean, apart from making funny vids of ISA runs with them, who uses shuttles!?

No, I am serious. Take a cruiser it has 4 weapon points fore and aft. Put in all eight points beams. It can fire all eight beams to each side and only four to the front and four to the back. An attacker takes less fire at the front and at the back. Why is the rear the weak spot?

You are right on shuttles. They have hardly any purpose, because their is hardly any content for them and what there is, looks a lot like we already have for space ships.

    Cherry Epohh.

Or I'd at least remove the bug that kept me from mashing them up in machine (or whatever happens to them in there) in exchange for marks.

There are different types of flanking: sideways, the kind which triggers the goodies in the Intel tree, and aft flanking, the kind which profits (Heavy) Raiders.

And there's a logical reason aft is tradionally the ship's weak spot. Space ships generally move forward, towards their foe(s). So, a frontal confrontation is the most likely (at least at 'first contact'); hence, the front is usually the heaviest protected (like cars, btw), and, consequently, aft the least. It kinda make sense, certainly if you consider the STO meta used to be Escorts almost exclusively. Anyway, ultimately, it's just a game mechanic.
