May sound like a strange question, but here's the deal. I have 3500 zen, and not sure what to do with it. All my characters have good ships that are fairly new and I don't really feel I'm lacking anything. I've never owned the Tier 6 Tac Flagship, but I DO have the Fleet Arbiter and Fleet Tier 6 Sovereign, both of which can utilize OSS III so not sure if getting the flagship would really improve things. I don't need any character slots, and I already own the EC cap upgrade. I don't really buy R and D packs unless there's a ship promotion.
What would you buy if you had 3500 zen and didn't really NEED anything? Any ship I should really get? Services? Open lockboxes? Sell keys for the next special ship? Trade for a load of dilithium for a rainy day? Other thoughts?
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

Do you have the temporal ship 3-pack? That's basically the best continuously available deal in the entire store IMO (with the Arbiter/Battlecruiser 3 pack being the next best and sounds like you already have that).
But really right now the hands down best choice is hold it for the next 2-3 weeks to see if they do any more deals on the infinity promo! R&D packs and either buy a wad of them if there is a discount or just buy what you can right before the end of the sale. Those are gonna be massive money in the bank later on. Easily twice the dollars-to-Ec you get from keys.
There's likely to be some mixed sales around Christmas, so mostly just hang tight.
hold onto it until the next lock box key sale/next Infinity Lockbox release, or the next Lockbox release. That or invest that Zen by selling R&D packs on the exchange.
you post this question like 3500 zen is a lot, I have more then that now and just bought the Temporal Special Agent Pack last week.
Oh I don't have any delusions of grandeur. I know that's not much, but it's about as much as I ever have at any given time, with my personal budget. Just looking for ideas.

I only had that much as I get the lifetime sub 500zen every month but haven't spent any of it for ages, only spent now as I fancied the Temporal Special Agent Pack mainly for my temporal character that I hadn't levelled up past getting the temporal device but also for other characters that can claim some of the ships and decided to buy now due to the "'Tis the Season to Treat Yo'self!" event.
not having a pop or anything just pointing out that some of us have much more then that and often cant choose what to buy so how could we choose something for that lesser amount.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

I understand
Based on responses so far I think I've narrowed it down to either keep saving, or buy some Infinity R&D packs and sell for EC. Either way, I'll probably wait until closer to the end of the Infinity promotion.

3.5k zen.
First thing which comes to mind is finally getting those last Tier 4&5 KDF ships which i do not yet have in my inventory.
That purchase has been sitting on the waiting list for far too long.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
If I had 3500 Zen? Wait for the tier 6 Nova. Or go after a bunch of lock box keys, sell them off for a bundle and go get me a tier 6 Connie.

I've actually considered saving EC for the Connie (I know I'd need to save more than 3500 zen worth) for my temporal recruit, but he is currently flying the Fleet Paladin, and also owns the Vengeance class, which he switches to every now and then. I'm having a hard time believing I'll be able to make use of three ships for one character...

Wait to see if there's a sale on the current R&D promo packs, buy them, hang on to them and sell when you feel they've reached their peak (before some other promoxit/boxit event inevitably hits), by which time the D4x/T'Laru will be in infinity packs finally and perhaps will lower in EC price, assuming all the Fed only players get their senses together and realize they should be opening those on KDF or Rom and not on Fed.
I would buy 1 Flying Spaghetti Monster and get the FT6 Vet Destroyer on another of my alts, then save the remaining 3000 back for the eventual T6 Nova release.
A number of "little" things you could do, assuming you haven't already: account bank slots, inventory slots, increase DOFF roster, increase BOFF roster, increase ship roster, ship loadouts, costume slots, etc.

I have money in real life because I don't buy what I don't need or really want. Throwing away money because it's there is how people live one paycheck from the street.
You only mentioned Fed ships. Have you thought about starting KDF and Romulan characters? The unique part of their story arcs before they merge with the shared stories are both fun to play. You might also enjoy learning to fly a warbird with cloaking and singularity powers.

Yeah, I didn't list everything just because I didn't want the post to be long, but I have Rom and KDF characters as well. They all have top notch C-store or Lockbox ships. Thanks for your advice!

3500 Zen ... hmm ... if you have the Account Bank unlocked as well as the EC Limit Unlock, you might want to consider getting additional Duty Officer Slots (increase from 100 to 300 per character). Also, you may also want to increase the Dry Dock Slots for each character since new "Free" ships will be available. Fleet Modules might be worth getting if you would prefer the Fleet version of some of your ships. I suggest buying during a store sale to get more for you Zen.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I'll probably buy a couple ships during the sale for fun and for the admiralty cards.

In fact, I'm a little peeved that I have that much stored since it can only buy pixels.
