Unskippable cutscenes?

Please please, for the love of god, make ALL cutscenes skippable. The nth time I have to watch a 2 minute cutscene that is not skippable, when other cutscenes are...there's no rhyme or reason to which ones are skippable and which ones are not. Unless it's just the ego of the different programmers that wrote different missions?

many of the newer ones that are unskippable are because of some behind the scenes requirement, especially if the cutscene moves actors around... I don't recall all the specifics but I think it was @tacofangs that told us about it, maybe @crypticrock

STO isn't canon, and neither are any of the books.

I understand the unenjoyment, but apart from the "Kahless is an idiot trying to play fair with an Iconian" scene they're manageable. That one ends directly in a battle, so you can't safely tab out for a minute...

There was one where you could explode during the cutscene and there wasn't anything you could do about it. It just depended on your current location when the cutscene triggered.

And yes, Kahless was STUPID STUPID STUPID, but what can we expect from a story piece focusing on the KDF? Their writing hasn't really been stellar.

I think you mean blowing up this Temporal Fleet Gate thingamajig in The Temporal Front. Yeah, could be annoying, but the cutscenes there are only 20-30 seconds at the most.

Unlike the "First landing on New Romulus D'Tan talking to Obisek", "First introduction of New Romulus by Foreman Kylor", or anything in Time in a Bottle. Those will give you ample time to learn Welsh. (Finnish and Chinese, too, if going for the full set on multiple toons)

None of Temporal Front's are skippable, and they add a good 3 minutes or more to the mission in total. The conference one and Vosk's exit are the prime offenders.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

And while we're at it, for the love of Kahless, let us exit our Fleet base from anywhere inside too! Like with the cutscenes, I get the Devs put work in it, and wanted to us to admire it, but we've seen it already. :)

= cutscene designer passing the buck to the programmer(s) who's code doesn't implement those requirements when skipping the cutscene.

Either way, someone at Cryptic is responsible.
