The Treat Yo'self Spend Reward Promo wording is a little confusing. To clarify, do I get the 4 free promo packs from the Spend Reward Promo if I:
- Treat My'self by spending 10,000 zens, acquired from the dilex, in the c-store?
- Treat My'self by buying 10k new zens now, but not spending them in the c-store?
- Treat My'self by buying 10k new zens now, and "spending" them in the dilex on dils?
Comments
Part in red makes it less than "completely clear". Also, the announcement doesn't specify where these zens must be spent. You can spend them in the dilex, after all.
No, it doesn't. And no, you can't.
Wait for a 20% off ships sale, 20% off services, 20% off R&D packs, 15% of keys. Also, then you only need to buy what you want, like a 4,800 zen ships bundle or 525 zen doff slots upgrade.
You give them $100 (or equivalent acceptable local currency), they send you that set of four R&D packs, eventually. They don't care what you do with the 11000 Zen (10k normal + 1k bonus Zen) that you get. Sit on it for all they care.
Apparently not, check the clarification by ambassadorkael.
I thought so too, but as written it says to SPEND zen not BUY zen. This is a new one for them, until now the bonus has been when you buy zen.
It's still a bad time to spend zen unless you really need something, since nothing is on sale.
What you're saying here is not the same as what an earlier person believes.
There seems to be some fundamental confusion within the community on exactly what kind of spending this promotion is rewarding - the spending of wallet monies or the spending of zens.
Could we get some clarification on this, @ambassadorkael#6946 ?
That's must be the understatement of the year.
There is a promotion going on right now called the Spend Reward Promo. The problem is that it describes spending both $100 and also spending 10,000 zens. These are different things and the Reward (4 promo packs) hinges on whether someone spends the right thing - $100 or 10,000 zens (possibly even both).
Some of the community believe they'll receive the Spend Reward if they spend 10,000 zens they've collected entirely in-game, others believe the only way to receive the Spend Reward is by spending $100 to buy new zens.
If both groups go the whole promo thinking they're going to get the reward but only one group receives them, our new community manager is going to be busy. Seems like a good idea to nip this in the bud right away, eh?
Ah. Thx for the clarification.
And if you just want to buy Zen, while it's not on sale silly you, that's OK as well to help the Fiscal Quarter's and Year End's bottom line.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
I have been tempted to buy this pack for some time and as my tos character is still at low level I will get a lot of benefit from the ships, having this promotion seemed like a good time to take the plunge.
the promotion blog states you only have to spend 10,000 zen to qualify for the reward.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
Sigh.
must admit I missed that part of the announcement, having said that I wonder how many will be chasing unawarded bonuses after the 16th has passed.

I'm guessing this is a 'knee-jerk' reaction to the Dilithium market plummeting. They wanted us to spend all that Dilithium on the Phoenix boxes, which we did; but they don't want us to make a bundle on converting the remainder of our Dilithium pile to Zen again (every Zen you don't buy, is essentially a loss to them)... unless we immediately spend it again (and not back on Dilithium, but on C-Store stuffz), so we'd still have to buy new Zen later.
P.S. Nothing wrong with that tactic, really: the promotion doesn't call for mandatory spending.
When the game's employed Community Manager is confused; you know there's a problem with how Marketing communicated this.
PWE ARC Drone says: "Your STO forum community as you have known it is ended...Display names are irrelevant...Any further sense of community is irrelevant...Resistance is futile...You will be assimilated..."
