I am a big fan of an old ability in STO which became a curiosity these days: Boarding Party!

One of my characters, my Klingon main commanding a Negh'Var Heavy Battlecruiser, is built around this ability. With DOFFs I doubled the number of shuttles launched and I armed them with rapid fire disruptor turrets dealing damage akin to the point defence console. In other words, those little shuttles are worthwhile combat "pets", especially since they were improved to have hull and shield. The small bonus of disabling enemy subsystem is also nice, although it rarely plays a big role.
But Boarding Party suffers from one critical flaw: Once the target has been destroyed before the shuttles reach it they just "shut down" and sit there until they despawn. If armed they still attack targets in range, but other than that they're not much help. It would help if they'd behave like any other targetable torpedo and lock on to a different target once the original has been destroyed
or they return to their mothership and lower the cooldown of the ability by a certain amount for each succesfully returned shuttle.
I'd love to read
@borticuscryptic 's thoughts on that

I thought it was. That happens when you create threads from the recent discussions overview...
@jodarkrider - could you be so kind and move it to the Builds, powers... feedback forum?

I highly doubt anything will be done though. When I first started I loved boarding party. In the beginning vs a single low level NPC it seemed useful (even if it was dumb that the transporters weren't being used when shields were offline). Didn't yet know how useless it was.
If they ever improve boarding party or fix the way skills are countered I'll eat my hat.
Marauding force needs similar treatment. That's another interesting mechanic with a lot of potential but screwed by the way skills are countered.
That's why I suggested what I suggested.
