fleet valiant vs jem'h strike ship

just watching season 5 e.26 "call to arms" of deep space 9 and was wondering if anyone has seen a Valiant vs Jem strike ship battle in pvp, and how they compare in battle...

    JHSS/JHRS > Valiant

But i suppose a good pilot could make do with either.

I have a Valiant and love it, but do you think a temporal escort is better?

I'll go out on a limb and say that most T6 Escorts are better than the Valiant as it has no access to the special powers that other escorts/raiders have.

    Just some points on that:
Phantom has full Intel access and clickies (and looks like a redesigned Defiant) and a built-in cloak
Theseus same as Phantom, but with Temporal (only gripe I have with it is the Ensign Tac)
Pilot Escorts have pilot maneuvers which make them more durable and the preferred 5/2 weapon layout

Valiant does have the fact that it's C-store and you can claim it on all your Fed toons. The Jem-hadar one is gonna be a one ship purchase. Something to consider when buying ships!

*duh, didn't see the 'fleet' part so either case is gonna be a 1 ship purchase

I’m not much into PvP anymore but was a few years back. I have a JHSS as well as the Tier 6 Defiant. With all the OP mechanics we have I suspect both ships could earn their merits in PVP depending on the equipped stuff more than on the skill of the pilot.

While the JHSS hits hard with OSS3 and a powerfull trait one lead argument for the Defiant would be it's cloak which could be utilize for hide-attack actions.

    I’d say drawn.

The valiant is a pretty meh escort. The only reason to fly it is for the skin it has.
And its console combined with the other Defiant consoles to have an official T6 Fed escort with a Battle Cloak and make some sensitive KDF and RR players rage.

That said, it's probably more worth it to use the money to buy keys, sell them and grab a Na'kuhl Tadaari with a Battle Cloak that doesn't require 3 console slots.

But yeah, to answer the OP, it all depends on the pilot behind the Bugship or the Valiant.

agree. They are different styles, but not neccesarily one better than the other. It's the build/Pilot that makes the difference.
I rate Intel abilities higher than Pilot ones. But as I have quite a few characters, I get Zen ships rather than LB ships - as they are account unlock. So while I do have some LB ships I have not flown the JH ships.

I do like my cannon build T6 Valiant. It doesn't do as much DPS (in PvE) as my other ships on that toon but it's fun to fly. And good enough. The fragile part also makes it a bit more challenging.
As for PvP - I only do 1vs1 recently as PvP Queues are dead/unbalanced/no rewards and so on.
But a well timed fully buffed Alpha strike (including 6 Quantum torps) can hurt quite a lot - not as devestating as my T6 Faeht warbird though (yep, that one has override safety)
    18 characters
    KDF: 2 tacs, 2 engs, 3 scis
KDF Roms: 3 tacs, 1 eng, 1 scis
    FED: 2 tacs, 1 eng, 2 scis
    TOS: 1 tac
all on T5 rep (up to temporal)
all have mastered Intel tree (and some more specs Points)
    highest DPS: 60.982

The Bug Ship is a beast - the Jem'Hadar three piece console set is still one of the best in the game. And the T6 trait is one that I would consider essential for an endgame cannon build. I believe the bug also has one of the strongest hulls of any escort in the game.

I've never flown the Defiant/Valiant but it looks like garbage in comparison. But those ships are accessible to anyone, whereas the bug is one of the rarest ships in the game.
