Next ship model update: Excalibur class (The starship of Star Trek Online)

Greetings all.

I remember nearly 7 years ago now getting really excited for the release of Star Trek online and looking forward to leveling up to get hold of the Excalibur class T2 cruiser. It was one of the main ships that was seen on the box art and website when STO was being advertised. It was a thing of beauty as it was a heavily modified version of the classic Constitution class that we all know and love.

A few years down the line, Cryptic announced the +1 ships that were modified versions of lower tier star ships. I was excited about the opportunity to get a better looking Excalibur class and we finally got the Exeter. At the time, it looked awesome and I used that ship right up until T5.

A few months ago I was lucky to have access to the T6 Temporal Light Cruiser. We finally got a T6 Constitution, for which I am most great full for as she is a really beauty to fly. The only disappointment is that the original T2 Cruiser model (The refit, Excalibur and the Vesper class) are really out of date compared to the newer 2410 era star ships, and I think its about time we had a new, advanced, glorious looking Excalibur/Constitution Refit/Vesper class model update

The Excalibur to me, is the ship of Star Trek Online and was one of the reasons I got a lifetime sub. To fly around the Galaxy in an updated Excalibur model would be great. Even if Cryptic polished the T2 Refit Constitution family models, that would be good enough. I really hope that this happens. One can only dream

I agree with you. I use mostly TOS parts for my temporal light cruiser, but if they give the others a face lift, I say go for it, yo!

I certainly agree. I think it'll probably happen. It seems in the last 12-16 months that Cryptic has been making new ships that are updated versions of "hero" ships instead of the generic video-gamey stuff that had been emphasized previously. Seems in the realm of possibility. I've been using the TOS saucer, hull, and nacelles and the Exeter neck and pylons for my Temporal Light Cruiser. I could see rotating its looks on a regular basis if the rest of the T2 costume parts were re-worked.
