I have been hitting Kobali prime on a daily basis mainly for the data cores. Yesterday I ran "At the gates" with no issue, but could not get the last stand to start. Is there something I need to do to get that mission?
Buy the Herald beam projector from the lobi store. It's a lot of fun and very deadly. Try it with the graviton spike kit module.
That is a damn good tip and much appreciated. I'm gonna do that asap; thanks! Price on that beam projector ain't bad, so here's hoping that the kit module isn't stratospheric on the exchange?
If you're an engineer a couple of good kit modules are the Neutronic Mortar (Delta rep) and the flamethrower beam turret from the Romulan embassy (Fleet, go to the embassy shuttle bay and buy from a console there)
For the second mission use the south / bottom entrance not the west / side entrance into the first area, and let the NPC fighters help you take the area.
The part after that is where you disable the transporters, which is pretty simple. Then you get sent to the final area, which is filled with stacks of crates or whatever forming pathways to set some charges and blow it up. I always hug the mountain wall on the right and go straight to the back to go in, rather than charging right down the throat of the area. The respawn rate on the Vaadwaur in that spot is ridiculously fast, so being able to pick off a few in the less-crowded rear to get those charges set first is a big help, and saves many trips back from the base where you started.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
Kobali Prime is not that bad once you get used to the Vaadwaur, but I admit they do re-spawn a little too quickly. A combo of rare / very rare Mk XII gear seems to be fine for my AoY Engineer. Though I did upgrade some gear to Mk XIV over the weekend, but I didn't go back to Kobali Prime again. Split beam rifles work really well.
I used the following kits:
- Sabotage (AoE to disable ranged weapons for 9 seconds)
- Mass Gravimetric Detonation (a nice AoE BOOM... most of the time)
- Chroniton Mines
- Reroute Power to Shields
- Medical Generator
I basically bring an engineering Boff with sabotage, chroniton mines, medical generator, and quantum mortar. And a science Boff with two medical tricorders, tricorder scan, and tachyon harmonics. Pretty basic abilities really.
Carrying large hypo sprays and large shield batteries helps in a pinch. Everyone has a Tribble (ric) which increases all damage and all damage resistance by 1.5% for 3600 seconds / 1 hour.
If you really have problems, then maybe try switching to a map that has more players. Hopefully many of them are doing the daily missions to get the Ancient Power Cells and Iconian Datacores.
I have never had a problem starting Last Stand. I have had a problem with it a few times where finishing it didn't give me any credit for the mission and I had to do it over again. I don't know if you have to do a certain amount of damage to the last guy or how it tracks your participation but every time I felt I did enough to get credit for the mission. The game obviously didn't though. It could have just been a bug.

Do you go to the mission replay terminal before teleporting to the area? OP apparently didn't know to add the replay missions first. I think that also means missing out on the blue Mark XII gear rewards and a few credits.
I can't even find the place. and I've finished the missions there. I can't even teleport anywhere near the place. of where I think it is.
Go to the mission replay terminal near General "Jack" Q'Neill. Select Arc III and pick the first 2 missions of that arc.
Teleport to the secret mountain base. Go right and go mission 1. Come back and get your blue mark XII shiny.
Go up then right then up to start the second mission. Finish the mission and then phone home to be teleported back to the city. Talk to "Jack" for your second blue shiny.

hmm I ran all the way up there and done the open mission and got the data core. then went back to the city and done what u said and I got another data core.. sweet
Yes, you can do each mission a couple of times a day to get 2 x Delta and 2 x Iconian elite marks, but only 1 set of bonus regular marks for each. The second run of the mission is either an "open mission" or joining someone else's.
