Temporal Special Agent and Delta Ops packs- worth getting?

With the 25% discount I know if I was to get either one it was either now or never, so I feel I should find out if they have anything that's a must-have.

Some background information- I have 9 normal characters that between them have every Tac/Eng/Sci & Fed/Kli/Rom combination, plus a Tac temporal one.

From the Delta pack I'd already bought the Mat'Ha during a sale at least a year ago, and I've heard that the reciprocity trait from the Phantom is pretty good. Is the Phantom the only decent ship (besides the Mat'Ha) in this pack, or are there other gems worth getting?

With the Temporal special agent pack it's a little more difficult- after doing some research I've noticed that the only T6 ships in that pack not available in other packs (Temporal bundle and starter) are the Nautilus, Saggitarius and Theseus class ships. I can see how the Improved Polarise Hull from the Nautilus might be useful, but as for the rest I'm drawing a blank.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Both packs are pretty decent, and provide a wide range of ships for all sides. While they are Fed heavy, the various faction and cross faction ships are still solid. And don't forget that Fed allied Romulans can use T1-4 allied ships as well.

The Delta pack has 8 good T6 ships and for Fed you get Reciprocity, Battle Ready and Emitter Synergy ship traits. The boffs are very good for intel ships, including a Rom with SRO+subterfuge.

The Delta OPs pack is a pretty good collection of ship especially since you are playing all 3 factions. I have flown all the ships except for the Aelahl Light Warbird since I have not created a Romulan Engineer yet. Already have 10 captains on my primary account and no free captain slot. Overall, it is a pretty good ship pack. My favorite ships are the Guardian, Scryer, Faeht, and Mat'ha.

You can buy better ships individually / in smaller cross faction bundles, but the Delta Ops Pack still offer a pretty good value especially with the 25% off sale; discounts is usually 20%. The 15% - 25% bonus Zen from buying Zen sweetens the deal.

Gonna mention the 31c cross-faction pack is one of the two best deals in the zeni store (kindo fo a toss up against the cross faction Battlecruiser pack). You get it as part of the Temporal agent pack but it's an excellent value on its own.

Thanks- you're right, I did miss that. I'd have been kicking myself if I'd gone down the Zen route and found this out after! :D

Both packs are loaded with good stuff and are at pricing lower than anyone would have predicted. I was expecting the standard 20% off for black friday but I was pleasantly surprised to see what they've done this year.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

do you main Fed? if you main Fed, they're definitely worth it. If you main KDF or Romulan, no. not worth it.

^ if by "main" you mean to ONLY play KDF or Rom then yes. If you play all 3 factions then the Delta pack has nice ships for all factions, just more fed.

Well in the end I bought the Delta Pack via Arc and the Temporal one via the Z-store since it happened to cost the exact amount of Zen I had left after buying the T6 Sovereign. It's gonna take a while to get the masteries on all these ships on all my toons! :D

To clear up some confusion on the composition of my roster, this is my lineup in faction order, with a little bit of backstory:

    Federation:
    • Human Tac- my first toon, she actually fields plasma weapons and has dabbled with both DHCs and DBBs. She's normally found in a pilot escort, with the occasional outing in the Jupiter-class carrier to field fighters acquired long ago.
    • Joined Trill Eng- arrived right not long after season eight and the introduction of the Federation tutorial, she specialises in phaser weaponry and is first in the queue upon learning of the promise of phaser-boosting equipment. Being a Federation engineer, she's most often found at the helm of one cruiser or another- most recently the Intel Assault Cruiser.
    • Vulcan Sci- the second-newest of the Fed side, she's still finding her feet when it comes to a preferred vessel type. That said, in a bid to defy Vulcan (and by extension, Federation) traditions there's no hesitation when it comes to favoured weapons, having opted to equip tetryons on all her ships.
    • Andorian Tac (Temporal)- the newest toon in the Federation camp, yet paradoxically the oldest, this temporally-displaced character's arrival was not universally expected amongst her peers. A somewhat traditional character still getting to grips with modern fleets, she was always going to equip her ships with familiar tech, namely phasers.
    Klingon:
    • Klingon Eng- as the first Klingon character (and second overall), this toon realised that Engineering was an honourable path as it underpinned keeping the Empire's mighty fleets in prime condition. As a proud Klingon she was always going to choose disruptors as her weapons of choice, and wielding them aboard her Mat'Ha-class raptor.
    • Orion Tac-a character who was equally adept at using her good looks to get what she wanted and finding glory on the battlefield, she quickly earned her place in the Klingon fleet and now flies her Kortar Class Raptor into battle. While her skin may be green, everything else about her is red, from her faction to her attire to the guns on her ships, making extensive use of antiproton weaponry.
    • Alien Sci- as a fresh-faced scientist, this toon has been fighting for her place in Klingon society for her whole career so far. Unlike her Federation counterpart however, she has quickly gravitated towards the Mat'Ha. A decision vindicated by her decision to pair this ship with disruptor-based guns.
    Romulan:
    • Rom Sci- This toon appeared on the scene with LoR, and unlike her opposite numbers her skills were favoured greatly upon New Romulus, with the exploration of this new world came great demand for scientists. Like many of her peers she was first in line to take command of a Scimitar-class, and later on its successor. Due to several encounters with the Dominion in her time it opened her eyes to the virtues of polaron weaponry, as a result all of her ships have been equipped with these. Due to her scientific aptitude, she was always going to align herself with the Federation.
    • Reman Eng (Delta)- Somewhat of an recluse, much of her past is shrouded in mystery. Despite this, her aptitude for engineering was never in doubt and was always going to find herself tinkering with the biggest ships. A proud Reman, her command of a Scimitar-class ship was all but guaranteed, as well as favouring the Federation over the more oppressive Klingon Empire. Eschewing traditional Romulan plasma, she instead opted for antiprotons as her weapons of choice.
    • Liberated Borg Tac- A Romulan who was assimilated as an infant before being rescued from a Borg Maturation Chamber in part due to a skirmish with the Klingons, her treatment at the hands of the Collective fostered a desire for vengeance that only deepened with time. Her tactical skills continued to grow and excelled in the Klingon Defence Force, culminating in the command of one of the first Khopesh-class warbirds when she reached the rank of Admiral. Her unique skills meant that there was only one choice when it came to weaponry: antiprotons, and lots of them.

Congrats, that's a lot of nice ships to play with. Don't forget to claim your Delta doffs and boffs for each captain.

Yeah, those bundles have certain extras that you simply CAN'T buy separately. The Intel boffs have rather interesting traits. The Lib Borg Romulan is a race you simply can't get normally. The Vulcan and Klingon both have a trait that they otherwise don't have.

I am still puzzled. I bought for 50 euro Zen just after I saw the announcement friday. I received 6930 Zen. It looks I got the whole black friday discount. I did not receive those reward points. It was something less than an hour before the sale started, 11/25 9:00 AM PT, because I did not pay attention to the time. I am in CET zone, 9:00 AM PT is for me about 19:00 PM CET. As I said, how come I got the Zen deal, but not the points if I was too early.

Where can I buy packs directly from ARC? I looked on the ARC webside and could only find the latest Temporal pack. And why is there a 50% discount on ARC and only 25% in the in-game Zenstore? That is not user/customer friendly.

Another thing. The Temporal Pack is only to buy on the english language site. Language english, go to temporal pack and there it is. If you take german as language, you cannot buy it. Main ARC/STO page, chose german language, go to tempral pack. There is just only information, no option to buy.

This is not very well designed. A customer might not get to the best deal, while he buys at one and the same company.

Also, side question. The rewards page says that the T5 Assault cruiser reward is for a single character. But, the page advertising the sale says it's for the entire account - does anyone know which one it really is?

On the english site you go to-> http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online
Scroll down to the Packs and click on Learn More by the one you want to buy.

Well, that was oddly obscure - if you don't click, they just look like descriptions of the packs.

    Thanks.

The Delta Pack BOFFs have one additional thing for them too - you can turn them to manuals, and then reclaim them again and again, which make it very interesting for cross-training themselves and other Intel BOFFs... though you may need to switch to space map to reclaim, and make mauals from inventory level... >:)

Likewise with the DROP; The Qib trait doesn't actually work and it's a case of needing an Intel officer to be as good as a Tier 5 Tor'kaht (Fleet Vor'cha-price 25$ in fleet modules), while the Mat'ha is good, the OP already bought his. The traits on the Romulan ships don't actually work in the Meta, though they do function.

Yeah, the Qib's trait sucks. I actually had to google it to remember what it was. The Mat'ha's trait isn't all the useful either. At best it is situational and should generally never be used in a PvE queue mission.

Maybe when I tire of flying the Kurak on my 2nd KDF tactical captain I will switch back to the Mat'ha. Though I will likely fly the T6 Kor BoP to get the Withering Barrage trait which is more befitting for the Mat'ha than the Kor.
