R and D schools questions (we need an FAQ sticky)

1. is there a reason to go beyond level 15 (other than increasing the chance of UR?
2. I've heard you earn traits at 15. is there a list and description?

    #1 - No real point to advance beyond level 15 unless you plan on crafting the special gear that unlocks at level 15 in each school. Maxing out the school increases the chance that these special gear will be crafted as ultra rare Mk XII instead of merely very rare Mk XII and will receive a random modifier. You also need to obtain a Doff with a specialization in that school before you can craft the specific gear.

    1. If you're crafting Tech Upgrades it increases the chance of critting and getting 2 at a time, and also improves your chance of higher Mk (X-XII) getting Very Rare for normal items.

    Plus you have a practically 100% chance of critting the Superior Upgrade Books for that School. Means you always get two for the price of one. Comes in handy for those Upgrade Weekends. Oh wait, there is one starting tomorrow.

    I have one Character with all Schools at 20. Most of the other non-Deltas have two to four up to 20. My Temporal has all at least 15 with one at almost 18 and another at 16.

    If you are not crafting stuff, there is no reason to not keep them going up every day. The increase to Crit chances are going to be worth it.

    Also, accolades at level 20. The only point of reaching 15 and beyond is the Sci/ground/beam/torp traits and increasing the chance of tech upgrades crit. And possibly crafting the UR RCS EPS consoles, and that's it. The rest is a waste.

    Yes if you want to craft anything besides Mark II gear.

    For level 15 gear and tech upgrades every level improves your chance of a better result -- an UR gear piece instead of VR, 2 upgrades instead of 1, and also 3 of a component instead of 1.
