Yes it is a beautiful update for the T5/T5U Nebula Class ship. I have a few friends who dearly love their Nebula and very happy with the update. If we are lucky...
Perhaps we'll see that ship front & center at ESD Port soon? Here's hoping...
Looks trashy in comparison to LB/Temporal science ships, but has its own niche. I wouldn't fly any of the modern Nebulas.
If you don't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. The devs work hard to release cannon appearance ships. That kind of attitude is why Star Trek Online has so many hostile players. We finally got another iconic Star Trek ship made to look like it's cannon apperance in STO. And you can even select various sensor attachments seen throughout the series. Something you could not do in other detailed Star Trek games like Legacy. I am glad the devs work hard and we are thankfull. You should be ashamed.

Oh please, cut me some slack. I've seen better commitment than revamping a ship that has already been in the game for ages. The temporal bundle and its mechanics? Totally more dedication. The best expansion ever? Arguably, more dedication. It's a nice ship pack, not much more to say; whoever has developed some sort of fetish fpr the ship, would buy it, regardless. For the other half of the players - pass on that.
I'm just pleased the new one got a temporal seat, I was terrified it'd get a command seat instead.
Does make a certain sense, what with Temporal being the flavor of the day for new ships. That, and Temp is to Sci what Command and Intel are to Eng and Tac, so it seems appropriate to double down on the exotic space wizardry.
I'm leaning toward picking them up, I don't currently do much with Science, but these might change my mind. As much as I like the Nebula though, I have to admit.. that Romulan one really has my interest.

Yeah, I personally think this is why they waited so long on the cross faction sci pack.
I'm a little bit disappointed it got Temporal spec, but given that it's simply the current "flavour" the ships get that correspond with they release date, meh. Canonically, Intel spec would have been a better fit for the Nebula and temporal a better fit for the Sovereign (having actually tiem traveled and all). But once I have working internet again that'll be a purchase I make

Actually.... one of the RTS Star Trek games gave the Nebula a time distortion power. So it's not actually just Cryptic that did it.
I'm excited, they look nice so far. Can't wait to get all three in my shipyards! Let's be honest and also say thanks for the Romulan and Klingon dedicated Sci vessels too! WAY TO GO!
Wonderful job on the Nebula and her faction counterparts (that Romulan version... wow, so beautiful) and the deflector change on the Nebby sooo much better (IMO). The Venture skin was just gravy on top of all the other work. So much great space barbie now (love the space barbie) and thank you artists for that!
Personally i'd have rather seen it have intel sec seating (as it was clearly used in such a role in TNG as part of the tachyon detection grid) or command (because one of the canon uses of the pod was as a torp launcher which would fit well with command).
I really, really hope certain other neglected Fed ships get the same treatment.

unless you're talking about the gemini effect, the nebula didn't have anything remotely temporal

Oh thanks, just a bit of friendly rivalry with #TeamAlpha. In the end, they did win, so at the behest of a #TeamAlpha-ite I also took a dig at my own beloved #TeamCharlie as well:
Back on topic, currently my configuration is:
Nebula saucer
Venture hull
Venture Nacelles
Venture center pylon
Magellan mission pod
Magellan pylons
Too bad the Venture center pylon doesn't exactly fit the Nebula hull a bit more elegantly. Even so the space barbie potential is glorious.

Hah.. that's exactly what I was thinking, too (Nebula better suited for Intel / Sovy better suited for Temporal)!!! Anyway.. am a big fan of the Nebula and am very happy about the release of the updated model, the new parts & the T6 version and hence will get it.

It's not nececssarily so in Star Trek physics, but in the real world physic theories, if Tachyons exist, it would also imply some forms of time travel. The focus on Tachyon-related technoogy and abilities with the Nebula variants make temporal rather fitting.
Of course, Command could make sense because of that big dome that is also found as design cue in some of the Command ships, and Intel would make sense with the behind-the-scenes "explanation" for why the original Nebula had no visible impulse engines.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

The Gemini effect in Armada was the Akira's ability, though? There was no regular Nebula in the unmodded game, aside from the one you can salvage on the "graveyard" map (there's a Galaxy too, but both of them were just generic ships with that skin).
EDIT: No it wasn't. Stupid Targ. Thanks at the lasciviously staring wolf @shadowfang240 to point that out

yes there was; it was the federation's science ship for frak's sake! and the akira's special weapon was chain reaction pulsar - aka, garbage even against large groups of enemies
it was a lot better in A2, mainly because you could have twice the number of akiras selected and bcause everything was far more fragile

Oink me, you are right. I don't know why I was so convinced there wasn't a Nebula in Armada, I pictured the intro before my mental eye and was sure I saw the Akira casting the Gemini effect on the Enterprise. But it actually casted that bouncy ball that popped the cube, didn't it?
I'm sorry, my previous statement was falsified. Please go on

The new nebula skin is a decent improvement which brings it up to the other canon T6 revamp standards. But that's about it. Like virtually all canon ships, the nebula is meh in it's boff layout, console layout, etc. It's "basic" as the kids these days say. The Eternal is head and shoulders above it in usefulness which isn't a surprise. I've pointed out many times that canon ships are given the "meh" boff and console layouts while original designs get the good stuff. Which makes sense, since the canon stuff will sell no matter what.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.
