more red alerts?

considering the many kinds of rep marks, should we have more red alerts on the maps or specific ones in different quadrants?
example: Delta marks (Hirogen attack) 8472 (fluidic breach) along with borg attacks could be found in the delta quad.

Temporal found in all 3 quads.

why does the borg and tholians get the special treatment?

It's simple really. When Omega and Nukara rep was added, there wasn't much to do. So a lot of stuff was added for them. Now there's what? 10 reps? They don't "need" to add more red alerts because we aren't starved for rep content like we were when reps were new. Though I agree that it would be nice and they could rotate which ones were available every few hours or days.

No need here. Bug Hunt Elite and Undine Assault Advanced cover both mark type needs in high roller teams with a dizzying amounts for each run.

When on my own I can also tend to the boring delta patrols or the even more boring undine space battle zone. Reason enough not to be on my own and to team up with others for some action.

I actually like the idea as long as the different red alerts didn't all count as the same queue.

If I could hop from one Red Alert to the next and each offered choice of mark package then it would be great. You could just chain your way from the Alpha to the Delta Quadrant and hit each one for quick dailies.

I know they would never go for that.. but it I still think it's a cool idea.

There are no more alerts in the game. Just a few unnecessarily hard to reach queues that are spamvertized whenever you're in sector space.

And no, we don't need any more of those.

i find that with some of the fleet actions, it can be hard to get the one you want for the rep you need.
while i do have all the reps max, its getting the set items of X of up to 1k for just one item can be a bit of a grind, most of all if there is a small number of people doing the fleet actions too.

I would not mind seeing them kick out something like a Vaadwaur and/or Voth based red alerts for the delta quad, maybe having it that we might come upon a vaadwaur an Voth fleets in a large scale engagement. Than I would not mind seeing them having some red alerts with the Herald/Iconian making a bit of a invasion, which could still work like with some of the Herald just being those still following T'ket.
  • spy8446spy8446 Member Posts: 599 Arc User
exactly, in delta having Vaad, Voth, 8472 and borg alerts fits, so could Herald or iconian based ones.
iconian and borg I think would fit in all three sects.
maybe have 2 different types of red alerts for space and ground ones? that way we can have more diversity in the "missions"

They seem to have all kinds of "Deep Space Encounters', so why not full blown Red Alerts.

Notice that the Temporal Marauders (Na'kuhl) Red Alert disappeared at the same time that the Borg and Tholian Red Alerts became non-existent/non-functional. However, it did not return when the other two did. And of course PWE/Crpytic's explanation of all of this disappearance and return as PVE Queues was very clear about all of that. You remember that Blog, don't you? Of course you don't because they have not said ONE word about all of this.

I suspect that it may have disappeared to coincide with the Crystalline Cataclysm Event. Can't have two Queues giving out Marks Choice Rewards at the same time. And no, Borg does NOT count as its Mark Choice Box is really only a reward of ONE Mark plus the Daily Bonus. Tholian got cut from providing Nakura AND Romulan on first play through for the day to just a choice of Romulan OR Nakura OR Fleet. Borg just gives out Omega Marks plus the one Mark (plus Daily) choice reward.

And the XP Boost is gone for Tholian and Borg. Tholian used to be pretty darn good for leveling up Starship Masteries. Pretty pathetic now.

with the borg alert, if you pick anything else as a second reward, you get 66? of it, but if you pick omega a second time, you only get one extra point, kind of a slap in the face i think.
I would also think that maybe, just maybe these alerts should also include the rep item (borg processor) because depending on time zones etc, can be hard to find the PVE you need for the item you need.
  • ltminnsltminns Member Posts: 12,573 Arc User
If you are getting 66 on the Choice Box you have a 20% Mark Bonus in play (55 Daily + 11 from the 20% Bonus + 1 from the reward, so really 67). Remember, for the Borg Red Alert, you automatically get the Omega Marks, so with that you already used up the Omega Daily Bonus. With that, you should NEVER select Omega Marks as your selectable as you will ALWAYS get only ONE Mark.

Treat that selectable as a way of getting a Daily Bonus for one of the Marks you may need.

Wait, do you want more Nakuhl red alert frustration? And since the RA's have been nerfed to death, I wouldn't even queue up - waste of time, in opposite to a fast and reliable sector space grind.

not everyone wants to play the way you do. not everyone joins fleets.

i was just on for about .....4? hrs and couldn't get any fleet actions for omega, so that means getting the processors is going to take me longer than I would like to grind that rep as im "collecting" all the sets just for something to do and compare others to.

having more RAs in general I think would be good, most of all if they give the "item" for that rep too.
  • stee1maxstee1max Member Posts: 227 Arc User
Fleet actions for omega? Really? Welcome to STF Online, that and CE are both your primary sources of space gameplay.
  • spy8446spy8446 Member Posts: 599 Arc User
eh what can i say, its what happens, and it really sucks that when you are grinding for X item, but need another 4-9 (5 - 10 ) players to play the missions, but you are looking at the numbers of 1s and 3s for hours.
more methods should exist to obtain the items, like the red alerts, or why not the deep space encounters?
