I have the intel dread on console and was wondering how good it is on pc with everything at your disposal.
Ive been told by a former HOBO that pvp has died, the Q's dont pop anymore and that the game has become ''sci ships online''
Does that mean at some point, once console catches up, the intel dread wont be good? Will i need a sci ship to not be instapopped?

Sci ships have become good, quite good even, but that's just catching up to where 5/3 beam and cannon builds already were.
And yes, PvP is a sad, sad thing. But others can tell that tale with far more vehemence that I can.
The starship trait is rather good, so a purchase is not completely worthless should there be another "uber" ship in the future.
Right now, the intel dread is among the best ships for starfleet captains, but yes, that might change at any time.
it can cloak, so, pretty good^^
but PVP is 90% depending on the user...but the intel dread is not the worst choice...
haven't had any experience with it though in PVP, because I haven't played PVP in month.
Like a homeless person that carries his stuff on a stick with a 'kerchief and warms his hands over a burning barrel?
It should be noted, I play PVE only. I don't know who told you that it's 'Science Ships Online' but that's completely false. Science Ships are powerful, but hardly the only option that works.
The Intel Dread is good regardless of what platform you play on. It's a fantastic ship with no weaknesses.
For PvP... I don't play PvP, but right now most of my ships if reduced to less than 5% hull jump backward 3 km and gain a bunch hull HP back and that's a free Temporal Specialization node unlock. More spendy people can get a Lobi ship, the Zahl, and can just sit at 0% for several seconds. Also, my energy weapon fire heals my hull for a percentage of damage dealt. If I go with Pilot Spec as Primary instead of Temporal and get shot on all four shield facings, I become completely Immune to damage for a few seconds. Also, the Level 15 Engineering R&D has a Trait that lets you reduce damage that actually lands by a weird space 'Dodge' mechanic if you spam Engineering abilities. As for the Science being dominant, Feedback Pulse is insanely buffed, double-damage for an Event ship Trait, Science 15 R&D Trait increases crit hit and damage for Exotic Particle Generators using abilities including it, and Temporal Spec gives even more EPG, making them return insane damage if shot with energy weapons. That's just the tip of the Iceberg, with lots of other durability things and Sci magic besides.
The Intel Dread is a nice sub-150k ship and would be great to obtain and driven out the drydocks for a ride, but in the current state of the game, Fleet plasma exploders do magic happen, to the point science ships outDPS fully tactical oriented ships.
Watch some folks hitting 200k on the Intel Dread, so its totally doable, despite the "tac captain/science ship" bias.
